Going by the words of the Dutch manager Ronald Koeman hours before the game that he risks a sack, it is now clear that his woes have just deepened after suffering defeat to Rayo in yet another dismal result and performance on Wednesday evening.
The Blaugrana fell to a 1-0 defeat at Rayo Vallecano as Colombian veteran Radamel Falcao grabbed the only goal of the game.

This result means that Barcelona has now lost two games in a row, having fallen to a 2-1 defeat in the Clasico to Real Madrid at the weekend.
Koeman admitted before the game that losing two in succession could prove fatal for his chances of staying in the Barca dugout.
“I’m a grown-up and I know how these things work,” Koeman said on Tuesday at a press conference.
“I want to enjoy the time that I have left if it is eight years, six months, one year, or some weeks.
“I think it’s important that we win this game, we cannot afford back-to-back losses.”
Barcelona’s Memphis Depay missed the only opportunity to level Falcao’s goal on spot-kick but instead compounded Koeman’s misery.

Koeman was certainly feeling the heat after Sunday’s defeat to Madrid when fans protested outside the club’s stadium and blocked the manager’s car when he tried to leave after the game.
Fans surrounded the car, banged on it, and started chanting for the manager to leave.
The calls for him to be sacked will only increase now after this latest result, which leaves Barca in the ninth position.
They have lost four of their last six games in all competitions and have won just three of their last 10 matches.
This is unsustainable and unacceptable for a team of Barcelona’s size, regardless of all the financial problems that are embroiling the club.
