FIFA 22: Top rated players ranked

FIFA 22 Featured

After the closure of the summer transfer window and the restart of all the major leagues across the globe, EA Sports have finally revealed the highest 22 rated players in FIFA 22, which will be available to play at the start of October this year.

Lionel Messi may now be dressed in a Paris Saint-Germain kit, but he has held onto his title as the best player in the game. However, for the first time in a long time, Cristiano Ronaldo is not in the top two.

The returning Manchester United superstar has been overtaken by Robert Lewandowski.

As many as seven of the top 22 players are goalkeepers, while 10 on the list represent Premier League clubs. Another four are from PSG alone, including three of the top six.

22. Sadio Mane – 89

After what was a poor season in 2020/21 compared to the season before, Mane still got quite a higher rating and he has proved this with the start of the current season with Liverpool.

Position: LW
Club: Liverpool
Country: Senegal

21. Ederson – 89

Position: GK
Club: Manchester City
Country: Brazil

The goalkeeper who had the most clean sheets in the Premier League last season has been granted the best rating amongst Premier League goalkeepers alongside Alisson Becker with his closest rivals, Liverpool’s Alisson Becker, Manchester United’s David De Gea, and Chelsea’s Edouardo Mendy rated, 89, 84, and 83 respectively.

20. Casemiro – 89

Position: CDM
Club: Real Madrid
Country: Brazil

The midfielder has always enjoyed higher FIFA ratings for the last five to seven years. This year he manages to maintain the same rating as he had in FIFA 21.

19. Thibaut Courtois – 89

Position: GK
Club: Real Madrid
Country: Belgium

Despite a trophyless season in 2020/21, Courtois has maintained his rating from FIFA 21 in FIFA 21.

18. Alisson – 89

Position: GK
Club: Liverpool
Country: Brazil

Ederson closest rival in the League and even in the Brazil national team. Helped Liverpool to a top-four finish last season including scoring a stunning header against West Bromwich Albion towards the end of last season. He has also reduced from 90 to 89.

17. Son Heung-min – 89

Position: LM
Club: Tottenham
Country: South Korea

The winger has always been lethal in front of the goal. Had the same rating in FIFA 21 and continued his impressive abilities of scoring goals last season.

16. Joshua Kimmich – 89

Position: CDM
Club: Bayern Munich
Country: Germany

Arguably one of the best defensive midfielders in the world if you are arguing alongside Kante. Kimmich won the Bundesliga with Bayern last season and has increased his FIFA rating from 88 in FIFA 21 to 89.

15. Virgil van Dijk – 89

Position: CB
Club: Liverpool
Country: Netherlands

The best-rated defender in the Premier League. Despite lack of game time last season due to a season-long injury, Van Dijk is back this season. The Dutch defender has however reduced from 90 in FIFA 21 to 89, pretty much because of lack of game time.

14. Karim Benzema – 89

Position: ST
Club: Real Madrid
Country: France

Karim Benzema is inarguably Real Madrid’s talisman since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo. After scoring 22 La Liga goals and earned a call-up to the France squad after years of being left out, Karim has maintained his rating of 89 from FIFA 21.

13. Gianluigi Donnarumma – 89

Position: GK
Club: PSG
Country: Italy

Probably one of the most improved players in FIFA 22 from FIFA 21. The new PSG goalkeeper had a rating of 85 in FIFA 21 and helped AC Milan secure a UEFA Champions League spot last season. Notably, he was awarded UEFA Euro 2020 player of the tournament.

12. Mohamed Salah – 89

Position: RW
Club: Liverpool
Country: Egypt

The Egyptian King. Ok, honestly no one knows why he was not given a rating of 90 plus, considering he was rated 90 in FIFA 21. The Liverpool man scored 22 Premier League goals just one less than top scorer Harry Kane.

11. Marc-Andre Ter Stegen – 90

Position: GK
Club: Barcelona
Country: Germany

Just because he had a rating of 90 last season did not mean he had to get 90 this season. If you are a football and FIFA fan you know what I mean. The Barca shot-stopper did not keep clean sheets and even lost the La Liga title to Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid also finished above them. He also had most eras leading to goals last season.

10. Manuel Neuer – 90

Position: GK
Club: Bayern Munich
Country: Germany

Neuer getting a 90 is understandably and deservedly given by EA Sports because of his contribution to Bayern and Germany’s national team. He was rated 89 in FIFA 21.

9. N’Golo Kante – 90

Position: CDM
Club: Chelsea
Country: France

After years of cries by FIFA and Chelsea fans, N’golo Kante is finally rated 90 in FIFA. The best defensive midfielder in the world and even the best midfielder in the 2021 UEFA awards, Kante has been improved from 88 in FIFA 21 to 90 in FIFA 22.

8. Harry Kane – 90

Position: ST
Club: Tottenham
Country: England

A rating of 90 from Harry Kane was expected. The 2020/21 Premier League’s highest top scorer and even helped England to the finals of the Euro 2020. This is an improvement from the FIFA 21 rating of 88.

7. Jan Oblak – 91

Position: GK
Club: Atletico Madrid
Country: Slovenia

Once again this season, Oblak is the highest-rated goalkeeper in FIFA 22 as he was in FIFA 21. The shot-stopper helped Atletico Madrid to La Liga triumph and has maintained his rating of 91.

6. Neymar – 91

Position: LW
Club: PSG
Country: Brazil

The PSG forward has maintained a rating of 91 from FIFA 21. This is just one of three PSG players in the top six. We already know PSG will be the strongest team in FIFA 22.

5. Kylian Mbappe – 91

Mbappe has increased from 90 in FIFA 21 to 91 in FIFA 22, but there is one thing he has maintained, and that is being the face of FIFA. The striker was revealed as the face of FIFA 22 a few months ago.

4. Kevin De Bruyne – 91

Just as he maintained his form all through last season, De Bruyne has maintained his rating of 91 from FIFA 21.

3. Cristiano Ronaldo – 91

Country: Portugal

For years, we are used to Ronaldo and Messi taking the first two ranks in FIFA but that is no more. This year, Ronaldo has been reduced from 92 in FIFA 21 to 91 in FIFA 22. The Manchester United man has however boosted the strength of Manchester United on FIFA.

2. Robert Lewandowski – 92

Position: ST
Club: Bayern Munich
Country: Poland

Thanks to his goal-scoring abilities, Lewandowski is finally rated above one of the two football legends, Ronaldo and Messi, oh well he is sandwiched between the two. The Bayern Munich forward scored a remarkable 41 Bundesliga goals, which is the highest a single player has scored in a single Bundesliga season breaking Gerd Muller’s record of 40 goals.

1. Lionel Messi – 93

Position: RW
Club: PSG

He is now a PSG player. He has also maintained the best player rate and has maintained the rate at 93. We all can imagine the quality of attack PSG is having this season and can not wait to try out PSG on FIFA 22.
