Arsenal’s Granit Xhaka Word of Hope After Chelsea Thrashing

Arsenal’s midfielder Granit Xhaka is disappointed that they lost their first home game on Sunday against Chelsea.

Chelsea beat Arsenal 2-0.

The Swiss midfielder while speaking after the game said this is a time for the Gunners to stick together.

Xhaka maintains that Arsenal fans have every reason to feel betrayed and it is disappointing.

He says there are a lot of lessons they have to learn from the Chelsea game and emulate the same.

“We had the fans behind us after a long time, we wanted to give them something back,” he said. “But I think you could see today why Chelsea are one of the best teams in Europe. They are doing some good things, but I think we can take something good from today as well.

“Of course we have to analyse the game. Every time we lose we are disappointed, but we have to say as well about the good things.”

Disappointed Fans

Xhaka adds that the prize was to give their fans a reason to smile once more with the Chelsea debacle but it did not happen.

However, he maintains “We have to keep working, we have to believe in each other, the only way to come out from this is to be together with the fans, in the team, with the squad with the players we have and I’m sure we can come back as soon as possible.”

The Gunners midfielder asserts that they still have hope of making it in the league.

Xhaka says that the season is far from over despite their first two losses in both games played since the start of the season.

A week ago, Brentford thrashed Arsenal to a pulp causing a major heartbreak for the Gunners.

Arsenal Hopeful

“We know we lost the two games and we are very disappointed, but we have still many, many, many games to go. A season never ends after two, three, or four games. We know we have to do better things, but this will come soon, and as I say, we have to believe in each other so we can come out from this,” he consoles Arsenal fans.

Xhaka is upbeat that together with his teammates, they will salvage Arsenal’s dying reputation.

All he asks for is dedication and togetherness on the pitch.

“The other way is by staying together. A lot of people try to speak and to kill a little bit the players and the team. But the strongest thing to do at the moment is to be together, and only together will we be stronger and give the results on the pitch after,” he concludes.
