Coco Gauff, whose full byline is Cori “Coco” Gauff is an American tennis player.

She was born on 13th March 2004 in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. Her parents are Corey Gauff and Candi Gauff. She also has two siblings namely; Cameroon Gauff and Codey Gauff.

Gauff is the youngest player ranked in the top 100 by the Women’s Tennis Association. Her determination has been celebrated by many in the tennis field.

Coco has a career-high ranking of world No. 30 in singles, and 42 in doubles.

She got her first WTA singles title at the 2019 Linz Open at the age of 15. This made her the youngest singles title-holder on the WTA Tour since 2004.

The tennis starlet has also won two WTA doubles titles with compatriot and fellow teenager Caty McNally.

Coco impressed many when she literally won over Venus Williams, another tennis celebrated player. This made her rise to prominence, and she became well internationally known. The win was the opening round at Wimbledon in 2019.

Gauff made her WTA Tour debut in March 2019 at the Miami Open. Eventually, she won her opening match.

She received a wild card into the qualifying draw at the 2019 Wimbledon Championships. Coco then became the youngest player in the tournament’s history to qualify for the main draw.

Coco Gauff reached the fourth round of the event, and each of her matches was the most-watched of the day in the United States. Gauff would later reach the third round of the 2019 US Open, and the fourth round of the 2020 Australian Open.

The tennis icon made her debut on the ITF Women’s Circuit in May 2018. She was a qualifier in the $25K event at Osprey. She eventually won her first professional match.

Gauff received a wild card into qualifying at the US Open but lost her opening match 5 months after turning 14 years old.

After Cori lost in the second round of qualifying at the French Open, she qualified for the main draw at Wimbledon. This was after entering the qualifying draw using a wildcard.

All four of her matches were most-watched matches on ESPN on their respective days. With this performance, Gauff rose to No. 141 in the world.

On January 24, 2020, Coco defeated defending champion Naomi Osaka to advance in the Australian Open.

“Gauff entered the Dubai Championships, where she beat Ekaterina Alexandrova, 12th seed Marketa Vondrousova, and qualifier Tereza Martincova before falling to Jil Teichmann in straight sets in the quarterfinals. This brought her to a career-high of No. 35 in singles.”

Coco Gauff played her first WTA 1000 event seeded in the 2021 Miami Open. She ranked at the 31st position.

Coco Gauff reached the first semifinal at a WTA 1000 in her career at the 2021 Italian Open (tennis) due to world No. 1 Ashleigh Barty retiring with a right arm injury in their quarterfinal match. As a result, she entered the top 30 for the first time in her career.

Coco has been endorsed by several brands. According to Celebrity Net worth, she was projected to earn at least $1 million from endorsements in the year 2019.

Gauff signed her first multi-year sponsorship contract with New Balance in October 2018. She also announced a multi-year sponsorship agreement with an Italian Food Company dubbed Barilla.
