Transfer News: Jesus to Juventus?

Transfer News: Jesus to Juventus? - Sports Leo

Serie A giants Juventus have identified Manchester City’s forward Gabriel Jesus as their prime summer transfer target.

According to Italian outlets Tuttosport, the Bianconeri are interested in signing Jesus, who is thought to be valued by the Premier League champions in the region of £58 million (€70 million.)
The 22-year-old joined Etihad from Palmeiras for £28 million in 2016 to add impetus and bolster the attacking options of the Citizens.

The Brazil international has netted 36 goals in 90 Premier League games for City, but just 48 of those have been starts, suggesting the Samba starlet will only keep improving as he matures.

The starlet has three years left on his current contract and would take a miracle to prise him away from Pep Guardiola, who could also be losing his wonder-kid Leroy Sane to Bayern Munich.

Juventus are taking the opportunity to lure the Sao Paulo-born star from Etihad, with the Shark team banned from European competition for two years for alleging breaches of Financial Fair Play rules.

Ferran Soriano, City’s chief executive, has stated the club are hopeful the Court of Arbitration for Sport will overturn the ruling before the start of the summer.

Should Man City lose the court case, the club would have to listen to low offers for some of their best players who would want to leave for Champions League football.

Juve already boasts of top-notch attacking options with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala.

The Old Lady have also identified Mauro Icardi, on loan at PSG, to team up with Jesus.

Juventus could secure the Argentine’s signature should the Parisians decide not to sign him on a permanent deal from Inter Milan.
