Career
Rob Van Dam made his first appearance on WWF television in 1987 in a skit with ‘The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase. He then made his wrestling debut in 1990, defeating Dango Nguyen. Between 1990 and 1995, he wrestled in many independent promotions, including the South Atlantic Pro Wrestling (SAPR) and the United States Wrestling Association (USWA),
Van Dam signed with World Championship Wrestling for the first time in 1992. He made his debut in January 1993, defeating Pat Rose.
In 1996, Rob Van Dam signed with Paul Heyman‘s promotion Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW). He portrayed the characters of a stoner while at ECW and quickly became a fan favorite.
During his time with ECW, Van Dam had feuds with other top wrestlers such as Sabu and Jerry Lynn. He would later form a tag team with Sabu, winning the ECW World Tag Team Championship twice.

On 4 April 1998, Rob Van Dam defeated Bam Bam Bigelow to win the ECW Television Championship. He held the title for 700 days and vacated it after suffering an injury.
Following the closure of ECW in 2001, Van Dam signed with Vince McMahon‘s WWF (now known as WWE). During his time with the promotion, he won numerous titles, including the European, Intercontinental, Hardcore and World Tag Team Championships.
Van Dam left WWE in 2007 and worked on the independent circuit for three years before signing with Impact Wrestling. In 2021, he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
