Brandonbilt Motorsports is a NASCAR Xfinity Series Team that was founded by Jerry Brown who is also a co–owner of Southern National Motorsports Park in North Carolina.

Jerry Brown started racing when he fielded a car for his son [Brandon Brown who is a driver in the NASCAR Xfinity] in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East.

The team progressed and moved up to the NASCAR Xfinity Series two years later and has been competing full-time for the last five years.

WHO IS BRANDON BROWN?
Brandon Brown is an American professional stock car racing driver and his father Jerry Brown is the founder of Brandonbilt Motorsports.

Brandon was born in Virginia in 1993 and he began racing at the age of ten years, driving go-karts. He moved to dirt track racing and won the World Karting Association Mid-South Region Junior championship in 2006.

Brandon made his NASCAR debut for Brandonbilt Motorsports in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East in 2014 and won his first race two years later in the Series at Iowa Speedway.

He then moved to NASCAR Xfinity Series three years later still driving Brandonbilt Motorsports and two years later, he won the race at Talladega Superspeedway.

The driver last competed full-time in NASCAR Xfinity Series when he was driving for several teams including the number 68 Chevrolet Camaro for Brandonbilt Motorsports.

Brandon parted ways with Brandonbilt Motorsports in 2022 forming his team known as  Brandon Brown Racing. However, he continued to race in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

Before he left Brandonbilt Motorsports, he was involved in a controversy where his car was mistakenly displayed with a Confederate flag on the hood. Brandon apologized and the flag was removed from the car.

During the race, some fans reacted to the controversy and were heard booing Brandon during the race.

HOW IS BRANDON DOING IN HIS TEAM?

Brandon is competing in a limited schedule in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and the ARCA Menards Series hoping to win a race in the series.

Since his team is still new, he is working on getting sponsorships because competing alone in the NASCAR Xfinity series is a bit difficult since their competitor teams are large.

Which are the challenges facing Brandon Brown’s team?

Lack of sponsorships

The lack of sponsors is the biggest challenge the team is currently facing because they cannot afford to compete at the same level as the larger teams in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

Lack of experience

The team is relatively young and new and they are in the process of learning how to operate at the NASCAR level which has led them to make mistakes that cost them points and finishes.

Lack of funds

In comparison to the larger teams, this team does not have the same financial resources as the larger teams in the Series, making it difficult for them to hire the best crew members and equipment.

Despite the challenges, Brandon is trying hard to use his experience to overcome some of the challenges they are facing.

WHY DID BRANDON LEAVE BRANDONBILT MOTORSPORTS?

Brandonbilt Motorsports is a small team that has struggled to secure sponsorships in the last few years with no success. With his brand and popularity, Brandon thought to himself that his team would attract sponsors which he is still struggling with.

Brandon had a controversy when a flag was displayed on his car by mistake. The fans reacted to that by booing him and this made it difficult for Brandonbilt to attract new sponsors, giving him a choice of having his team.

Brandon desired to always own his team in NASCAR and this was a good start for him.

HOW MANY TEAM MEMBERS DOES BRANDON BROWN HAVE?

Brandon Brown’s team has 14 members including mechanics, tire changers, over-the-wall crew members, a jackman, a fueler, a tier carrier, a manager, an engineer, a spotter, a crew chief and a driver who happens to be Brandon.

His father Jerry Brown is also part of the team where he plays the role of the team owner and his support to his son is one of a kind.

Brandon’s greatest dream in his racing career is winning the NASCAR Cup Series championship.

He is also very proud of his father who fielded a car for him in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East in 2014 as that was an eye-opener to him for greater opportunities.
