Career
Asuka initially worked as a graphic designer before deciding to pursue a career in professional wrestling. She was inspired to join wrestling after watching the likes of Keiji Mutoh, Masakatsu Funaki, Satoru Sayama, Akira Maede and Minoru Suzuki.
Asuka made her professional wrestling debut on 16 June 2004 at all female promotion AtoZ. She spent her first part of professional wrestling at the Japanese promotion before suddenly retiring due to chronic nephritis in March 2006.

She has since won several titles, including the SmackDown Women’s Championship and WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.
