Doucoure was born in Meulan-en-Yvelines, France to Malian parents on January 9, 1993, and is the sixth born among eight children.  The family lived in an underprivileged neighbourhood in Moureaux, West Paris. He attended a French-speaking school where he was good at athletics and was appointed as a class municipal advisor at 12 years.
