Why Lewis Hamilton can’t forget ex-lover Nicole Scherzinger

For nearly a decade, Lewis Hamilton knew not that the love of his life, American pop star Nicole Scherzinger would end it.

Now 37, the Mercedes driver has fond memories of his past love life with Scherzinger, who is now 44. They split up in 2015.

The Mercedes driver recently discussed their infamous breakup on his Instagram page. He admitted that it was challenging to preserve their relationship while pursuing a Formula One career.

He said that the breakup made him feel so lonely, but he knows that he will get through it in some time to come.  The seven-time F1 champion describes his ex-lover as a unicorn wielding so much power and purpose.

“You are a unicorn, there is nobody like you and you have so much power and purpose on this earth, don’t give up. Keep fighting, I’m right here with you. Sending you a hug, love and light,” he posted on Instagram.

The British F1 driver first met the R&B singer at the 2007 MTV EMAs. She was, at the time, a member of the Pussycat Dolls girls’ band. They dated for seven years, on and off.

While the couple refuted the rumours in 2014, it soon became clear that they may even have been engaged. Despite their denials, the couple’s supporters were overjoyed at the prospect of a legal union.

Sadly, their dreams would not come true as they separated permanently in 2016 after first announcing they were taking a hiatus in 2015.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Hamilton acknowledged that he had a tough lesson about relationships. He went on about his lack of romantic involvement following his breakup with Scherzinger.

He said that this breakup was purely a result of being very focused on his Mercedes team and chasing world championship titles.

The lead singer for the defunct Pussycat Dolls reportedly broke up with Hamilton because he wouldn’t commit to getting married to her.

She finally ended the relationship because she was sure the Mercedes driver would never ask her to marry him. Even though she is the one who had called the relationship off, she was really heartbroken when it ended.

This same year, Hamilton had just bagged his second F1 title.  Nicole, a former X Factor judge, made it obvious that she desired marriage and children.

However, Hamilton was focused on defeating Nico Rosberg, a teammate from Mercedes, in the 2015 world championship.

The seven-time World Champion had a difficult 2022 season, where he lost the title to Red Bull’s Max Verstappen for a second time.

He posted it after his most recent loss when he finished fifth in the Japanese Grand Prix, and Max Verstappen went on to win for the 12th time. Hamilton was already prepared for a loss this season, explaining that his Mercedes car was not up to its peak performance to rival Red Bull.

Lewis has already spoken openly about his difficulties with mental health and how his wildly successful racing career has neglected other facets of his life.
