Caeleb Dressel has taken up the mantle to ensure he performs his best at the upcoming Tokyo Olympics. Dressel is an American freestyle and butterfly swimmer. He specializes in sprint events.

In an interview, the swimming guru gave a well-outlined routine of his workout.  The sporting event is scheduled to kick start on 23rd July. Therefore, all Olympians are rushing to perfect their preparations.

Caeleb Dressel, who is the fastest swimmer in the world as of right now said that he starts with a quick snack. After the snack, he says that he starts his gym sessions at 7:00 am.

The gym session begins with a two-hour weight session. The specially talented swimmer further said that he gets to the swimming pool for a two-hour swim after the gym.

The sole purpose of the swim is to improve his technique and skill set, which will make it easier in his performance.

Afterwards, Dressel said that he takes a break to try and catch a breath. As part of his workout continuation, he goes back to the swimming pool for another swim.

While he was speaking about his swimming routines, the competitive swimmer revealed that he swims in the morning and evening on Tuesdays and Thursdays. On Wednesdays and Fridays, he swims once and hits the gym for another weight session.

It is said that actual swimming exercise refines the swimmers’ technique. However, weight training is equally important.

The COVID-19 pandemic has been a major hindrance to the swimmers as they did not have swimming pools to train. However, they have found means to train according to Dressel.

Caeleb Dressel amazingly bagged six gold medals in the World Championships in Gwangju. That was a performance that really amused people. It was an achievement that has been rarely achieved by any other swimmer.

Therefore, there are exceeded expectations by people that Dressel will win seven gold medals in Tokyo.

The swimming sensation expressed high hopes of exemplary performance in the Tokyo Olympics.

“Likewise, Dressel spoke about the need for mental stability as well. Recently, Simone Manuel expressed her concerns about the over-training syndrome she had that backtracked her progress in the swimming pool. Reigning 100-meter women’s freestyle Olympic champion failed to qualify for the event because of this issue.”

Caeleb Dressel currently represents the Cali Condors, which is part of the International Swimming League. At the 2017 World Aquatics Championships in Budapest, he made an impressive performance.

There, he bagged seven gold medals and a record eight medals. That was in the inclusion of six gold at the 2019 World Aquatics Championships in Gwangju.

The swimming icon is the current holder of the world records in the 10-meter butterfly in both long course and short course. He also holds the record of 50-meter freestyle in short course and 100 meters individual medley in short course.

Reports as well indicate that Dressel ranks among the best athletes in the vertical jump. He has been undoubtedly been a shining star in the pool.

Additionally, he has launched an online course dubbed ‘Piece by Piece’. The purpose of the course is reportedly to address the swimmers and improving their mental health. It also aims to improve their swimming techniques and work out routines.

‘In another innovative idea, the YouTube channel, Dressel Dissects, focuses on the different races he has performed. He analyzes himself to give aspiring swimmers a chance to focus on their technique and point out the common mistakes.’

More to the list of his achievements, Dressel holds the American records in 50-meter and 100-meter freestyle and in 50-meter and 100-meter butterfly (all long course).

He also holds the short course records in 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle events, the 100-yard butterfly, and the 200-yard individual medley, and formerly in the 100-yard breaststroke.
