Nick Faldo is an English professional golfer, born on 18
th July 1957. His full byline is Sir Nicholas Alexander Faldo. He was born in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, England in the United Kingdom.
His parents are Joyce Smalley Faldo and George Arthur Faldo. Faldo is currently mainly an on-air golf analyst.
What is most unique about Nick is that he was ranked No.1 on the Official World Golf Ranking for a total of 97 weeks. That was a record broken and mostly celebrated by many.
Faldo’s dedication to the game always put him on the map during his era. Nick had 41 professional wins. They included 30 victories on the European Tour and six major championships.
The six include three Open Championships (1987, 1990, and 1992) and three Masters (1989, 1990, and 1996).
Nick Faldo has since become a television commentator for major golf championships. He made an impressive step and in 2006 he became the lead golf analyst for CBS Sports.

Faldo’s career went on to blossom as the seasons went on. In July 1993, Faldo won Carroll’s Irish Open for an unprecedented third time in a row. Starting his final round four shots behind José María Faldo’s fourth round of 65 enabled him to tie over 72 holes with Olazábal.

Only one European golfer, Harry Vardon, who won seven majors in a span between 1896 and 1914, has had more major victories than Faldo. Other than Vardon, only one golfer from outside the United States (Gary Player from South Africa) has won more majors than Faldo.
Faldo was named the PGA Tour Player of the Year in 1990 and the European Tour Player of the Year in 1989, 1990 and 1992, and has won 29 European Tour titles.
In addition to his career life, Faldo was selected as captain of the European Ryder Cup team in 2008.

Faldo has had a controversial marriage life. Between 1979 and 1984, he was married to Melanie Rockall. They later divorced and he married Gill Bennett between 1986 and 1998.
Nick was also married to Valerie Bercher from 2001 to 2006.
