Anthony Joshua next fight will be a blockbuster considering the agonizing defeat he suffered at the hands of Daniel Dubois. AJ and Dubois clashed last month at Wembley Stadium in a fight that turned out to be one sided.

Joshua, who is a two-time heavyweight world champion, was hit to the floor three times before being knocked out in the fifth round of the fight. Following the loss, the 34-year-old did not only miss out on the IBF title but also saw his career take a big hit. He has so far lost four times since turning pro, with previous losses coming against Andy Ruiz Jr and current heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (twice).

Even though many are calling out for Joshua to retire, he hasn’t showed any signs of hanging his gloves anytime soon. The Brit issued a statement a few days ago in which he said that he believes he could be a heavyweight champion for the third time in his career. Since AJ has assured his fans that he will be back, all focus are shifting to Anthony Joshua next fight.

When Is Anthony Joshua Next Fight?

Victory against Dubois would have increased the chances of AJ facing fellow Briton Tyson Fury in a highly anticipated clash. However, the loss only means that a rematch against Dubois is what AJ could be training hard for in the coming days.

According to promoter Eddie Hearn, a rematch clause could be triggered between AJ and Dubois. Dubois promoter Frank Warren, however, believes that it’s not a good idea for AJ to trigger the clause considering the former world champion was dominated from the start to the end.

Warren has revealed that Dubois next fight will be early next year, which could be the time that Dynamite’s clashes with AJ.

“You’re probably asking if I still want to consider fighting? Of course I want to continue fighting. We took a shot at success and we came up short. What does that mean now? That we’re going to run away? We’re going to live to fight another day. And that’s what I am – I’m a warrior. There were a few mistakes in there but that’s the name of the game. Fine margins will cost you at the top level.” Anthony Joshua said, as per The Independent.
