The Saudi Pro League looked to the Premier League for star players last year in the transfer market in an attempt to increase their popularity.

Although it seems improbable that the Saudi clubs would equal the amount this summer, there are still rumors that they have ambitious intentions.

We decided to take a look at the big name players from the Premier League targeted by the Saudi Pro League.

Casemiro

Casemiro is certain to depart Manchester United this summer in one way or another, making him maybe the most probable Premier League player to wind up on the Arabian Peninsula next season.

The previous two of the Brazilian’s appearances have seen a sharp decline in performance quality this year. Although he was playing center defense against Crystal Palace and Arsenal out of position, his inattention to detail and lack of effort was insulting.

Man United must be considering their options for getting rid of him, since they paid Real Madrid more than £70 million for him just two years ago. Cristiano Ronaldo’s team, Al-Nassr, may provide the crucial escape route they require.

Kevin De Bruyne

Given Kevin De Bruyne’s incredible play after his injury comeback, it seems inconceivable that Man City would consider selling one of their all-time best players.

However, the 33-year-old Belgian superstar appears to be suffering from ailments more regularly, which keeps him sidelined for extended periods of time.

Last summer, De Bruyne and City turned down proposals from Saudi Arabia; nevertheless, SPL teams are now “intensifying” their efforts to sign the midfield player. His contract has just one year left on it, and the team has not yet started talks regarding an extension.

There’s a ray of optimism there for potential purchasers.

Ederson

Speaking of bold moves, Ederson is rumored to be among the Saudi Pro League’s top targets for the upcoming summer transfer window.

Manchester City is unlikely to let rid of its starting goalkeeper this season, barring an enormous transfer offer that they are unable to turn down.

Mohammed Salah

Last summer, Al-Ittihad made a huge proposal of up to £150 million for Mohammed Salah, but Liverpool swiftly rejected that offer.

A year later, the Egyptian’s future is a subject of much conjecture, sparked by his most recent touchline altercation with departing manager Jurgen Klopp. Given that he has one year left on his bumper deal, it seems sense for all parties to weigh their alternatives.

To put out the fire, Liverpool has informed the media that they have no plans to sell their star player. Indeed, they’re hoping he’ll ink a new contract.

Saudi Pro League teams could decide to wait for Salah’s current contract to expire in order to sign him for free rather than making an offer as large as it did two transfer windows ago.

Alisson Becker

In a similar vein, Liverpool will not want to allow Saudi Arabia’s genuine interest in probably the finest goalkeeper in the world go.

Although it seems unlikely that any offer for Alisson would be accepted right away, the Brazilian goalkeeper is aging and prone to injuries. Though the likelihood of his leaving is remote, there is a chance.

Bruno Fernandes

The rumors that Bruno Fernandes would depart Manchester United at the end of this season were fueled when he stated in February that he would only discuss his future after Euro 2024.

Subsequently, he has been associated with both Bayern Munich and the Saudi Pro League, where acquiring the midfield player would be crucial. It’s an extremely bold move, maybe a little too bold.

A transfer to Al-Hilal appears doubtful for the 29-year-old Fernandes, especially at this point in his career, as it was reported by Portuguese media more than a week ago. Fernandes was not interested in joining Al-Hilal.

The Red Devils may view this as the perfect opportunity to cash in on their top player, given he has two years remaining on his contract, but following last week’s conversations, according to David Ornstein of The Athletic, he is expected to continue with the team.
