From Olivier Giroud to Sergio Ramos and Marco Reus, we take a look at players linked to the MLS. Before the Saudi Pro League took the limelight we had the Major League Soccer of the United States. Whereas many players are now considering a move to Saudi Arabia, there are a few who still prefer the MLS, especially after Lionel Messi moved there last summer.
Messi has made the league attractive once again and a few European-based players are expected to sign with MLS clubs this summer transfer window. In this article we take a look at players linked to the MLS and could move this summer.
1. Sergio Ramos

Sergio Ramos has been linked to the MLS several times over the past few years. While he ended up joining Paris Saint-Germain and later Sevilla after leaving Real Madrid, it seems he might land in the United States this summer.
According to reports, Ramos was in talks with San Diego FC and considering the fact that his contract with Sevilla expires this summer, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him play against Messi once again. Even though the Spaniard is currently 38, he still got what it needs to stop top strikers.
2. Marco Reus
Marco Reus announced his exit from Borussia Dortmund a few days before playing his final Bundesliga match for the club. While he still has one more game to play before leaving Dortmund, it has already been reported that his next destination could be the MLS.
Reus has been heavily linked with a move to St. Louis City SC and discussions will definitely happen after this weekend’s UEFA Champions League between his current club Dortmund and Real Madrid. The German will be hoping to leave his childhood club with a Champions League winners medal.
3. Hirving Lozano
Apart from Sergio Ramos, San Diego have also been linked with a move for Hirving Lozano. The Mexican star helped PSV clinch the Eredivisie title in the just concluded season and it remains to be seen what his plans are this summer.

While it is believed that he will move to the MLS, Lozano had previously stated that he would like to play in Liga MX, describing it as a league which gave him the opportunity to be in the first division.
4. Antoine Griezmann
Once again Antoine Griezmann finds his name on the list of players linked to the MLS. The Frenchman has flirted with the American league for a long time and a move could finally take place this summer.
Griezmann already admitted that he won’t join any other club in Europe after leaving Atletico Madrid. The 2018 World Cup winner with France stated that he is a fan of American culture and would like to spend his last years as a professional footballer playing in the MLS. Considering he is currently 33, Atletico will be willing to let him leave if a good deal comes their way.
5. Angel Di Maria
One of the finest wingers of his generation, Angel Di Maria is also among players linked to the MLS. The Argentine joined his boyhood club Benfica after leaving PSG but could be playing in the United States starting this summer.
Inter Miami have expressed their interest in signing signing Di Maria, which means we could see him line up alongside Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba an, of course, Lionel Messi. According to Inter Miami boss Tata Martino, Di Maria’s move isn’t imminent because of financial issues. However, if they managed to convince Alba and Suarez to sign on a cheap then they would also do the same for Di Maria.

6. Olivier Giroud
For Olivier Giroud’s case, the move will happen. It’s just a matter of time before he officially departs AC Milan and sign with Los Angeles. Both parties already reached an agreement and the Frenchman will be gone as soon as the transfer window is opened.
Olivier Giroud is one of the best strikers in the world and his presence at Los Angeles could see the team become one of the best in the MLS.
