- Minnesota Timberwolves game last night ended in their victory 105- 100 against the Dallas Mavericks
- It was supposed to be the last meetup of the Western Conference finals
- The Mavericks have crushed them in previous games
Minnesota Timberwolves Game 4 on Tuesday night ended in their victory 105- 100 against the Dallas Mavericks.
It was supposed to be the last meetup of the Western Conference finals series where the Mavericks have crushed them in previous games. In the end, this postseason’s conference finals won’t include two sweeps as earlier expected.
The Wolves redeemed themselves in a big way against the Mavericks who won 116- 107 in Game 3. Their Game 4 victory necessitated a Game 5 slated for Thursday night in Minneapolis.
Importantly, this was the Wolves’ first win in this series of Western Conference finals this season. Nonetheless, the Mavericks are only one victory away from making their first trip to the NBA Finals in 13 years.
They still lead the series 3-1. Despite their win in Game 4, the Timberwolves would need to win three consecutive matches to come from a 3-0 lag.
How Did Minnesota Timberwolves Game 4 Go?
The series is officially underway for the Wolves who had a difficult time getting past the Dallas Mavericks early on.
However, the Minnesota Timberwolves Game 4 on Tuesday night held at the American Airlines Center jumpstarted the Timberwolves with a narrow lead of 105 – 100.

It was by large, thanks to a strong fourth-quarter performance by Karl-Anthony Towns. He found his groove and the Timberwolves won Game 4
Towns scored 20 of his 25 points in the second half of the game which was crucial for Minnesota to end with a five-point lead.
With 29 points, 10 rebounds, and 9 assists, Anthony Edwards helped the Wolves survive their first trip to the conference finals in 20 years and only their second in 35 seasons as a team.
Towns shot 9 of 13 from the field, including 4 of 5 from deep, after shooting 28% from the field in the previous series. And that came around halfway through the third quarter when I picked up my fifth foul.
The Timberwolves went hard on the Mavericks in the first 12 minutes of the game, jumping out to an early lead but Luka Doncic was a big headache for them.
In the first quarter of the game, the Mavericks shot only 6-of-21 from the field and allowed the Timberwolves to go up 14-2.
But before halfway, the Mavericks started to click. They made numerous clutch runs to get back into the game and finally ended in the locker room tied 47-47.
Incidentally, the Mavericks scored 20 points in the first half of Minnesota Timberwolves Game 4 due to turnovers.

Unlike his below-average performance in Game 3, Towns had a visibly powerful start in Game 4. He was only 5-of-18 from the field and 0-of-8 from beyond the arc.
In Game 3 he managed only five points in the first half. He shot 6 of 7 from the field to start the game, and he scored the game’s first basket early in the third to give the Wolves a 2-0 lead.
However, shortly after the quarter’s halfway point, Towns was flagged for his fifth foul of the evening. Learning from his mistakes, he graced Game 4 with newly-founded zeal and saved the day forcing a Game 5.
“Being aggressive. Ain’t no time to have any doubts in your mind, especially at this time. It’s Game 4, down 3-0. Ain’t no time to have any doubts,” he told ESPN about the Wolves performance.
How Did Dallas Mavericks Lose Game 4?
Although the Wolves won on Tuesday night, Doncic gave them a hard time. Dončić concluded with another triple-double. In the defeat, he finished with 28 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists while only shooting 7 of 21 from the field.
Kyrie Irving, who had only made one of six shots from outside the arc, contributed 16 points and four assists. Before Tuesday’s game, Irving had a perfect record of 14-0 in closeout games throughout his career.
Maxi Kleber returned to the Mavericks on Tuesday night following a more than three-week absence due to a shoulder injury. He played for 13 minutes.
Dereck Lively was still missing in Game 4 following a neck injury he sustained in Game 3 after Towns kneed him on the head.
Thursday’s Game 5 will be historic as the giants of the Western Conference meet once again in the run for the NBA Finals tickets.
