Retired NBA player Ben McLemore is under arrest for multiple s3x crimes and a separate first-degree r@pe charge.
McLemore was drafted by the Sacramento Kings in 2013 and he played for different NBA teams his last being the Portland Trail Blazers before exiting the scene in 2022.
Ben McLemore is Under Arrest, But Why?
According to the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office in Oregon, McLemore was taken into custody on Tuesday due to an outstanding warrant from Clackamas County and taken to the Clackamas County Jail.

Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office website indicates that McLemore is facing first-degree r@pe, first-degree unlawful s3xual penetration, and second-degree s3xual abuse.
The allegations date back to October 3, 2021, while McLemore was a Portland player and there was a report of s3xual assault in Lake Oswego. Police investigated this claim and named him a suspect in the case.
“We applaud the courage of the survivor to come forward and put herself through this arduous process, and we will continue to support her in any way we can,” said the police in a statement.
This was after a testimony by the victim leading to a warrant of arrest for McLemore. He was released on $500,000 bail by the court on Wednesday pending a hearing and determination of the case.

Playing collegiate basketball for the University of Kansas Jayhawks, McLemore developed his skills in a big way. Scouts were drawn to his explosive speed and scoring prowess, which resulted in the Sacramento Kings selecting him as the seventh overall choice in the 2013 NBA draft.
Dressed in purple and black like the Kings, McLemore became a star. His fluid jump shooting and capacity for offensive production made him a team asset.
However, inconsistent play marred his rookie season in the league. Even in his most brilliant moments, he had trouble maintaining a steady cadence.
For McLemore, the Houston Rockets were a welcome change of scenery. He discovered a new purpose here. He accepted his position as a floor spacer and turned his three-point shooting into a weapon.
Supporters saw him develop, and McLemore’s efforts made the Rockets competitive in the Western Conference. He joined the Portland Trail Blazers in 2021 after a stint with the Houston Rockets.
His journey persisted, exhibiting tenacity and resolve. He was determined and never stopped until he scored. The former NBA player averaged 9 points per game, 2.3 rebounds and 1.0 assists.
He left the NBA for Rio Breogan in Spain’s Liga ACB league.

Ben McLemore found his happily ever after with his wife Jasmine. They tied the knot in July 2018 after meeting on a blind date set up by friends. The couple have a daughter, Taegan, born in 2017, and a son born in 2019.
His family hasn’t addressed the claims yet since they first came to the limelight in February. He carried on with his basketball career in Spain until his recent arrest.
Rio Breogan is yet to issue a statement on the matter but it is likely to suspend the 31-year-old pending trial and determination for the four counts he is facing.
