Tusker FC assistant captain Brian Bwire is confident his charges can bounce back when they take on Bidco United as the FKF Premier League resumes. The brewers were beaten 1-0 by leaders Gor Mahia two weeks ago, putting an end to their six match winning run.
But as they face Bidco, the goalkeeper says they have picked their lessons and switched their confidence back up.
“We saw what we did wrong against Gor and we corrected. We have worked to try and improve especially offensively to ensure that we take our chances early enough,” said the goalkeeper.
He added; “The two week-break has given us ample time to rest and recover and I believe everyone is now fit and ready. We are focused but we know it will not be an easy game. Bidco are a good side.”
Tusker beat Bidco 3-2 when they played in the first leg in Murang’a and they will be looking to complete a double over them. Overall, over the last six meetings, Tusker are yet to dro points against the Thika-based side.
Bwire says the team is upbeat that they can continue the trend.
“The season is still on; nothing is lost. We are still in the race for the title, and we will keep trying to get on with winning. You never know what can happen in the next matches and we need to keep our end of the bargain,” Bwire added.

Tusker are 12 points behind Gor, and have a massive hill to climb to bridge the gape.
For the Bidco game, they will be without defender Tom Teka, who picked up an injury in training. In his place, they will draft in Eugene Asike.
Teka has been part of a backline that has been mean over the last few matches, Bwire, who leads the backline, has kept nine clean sheets so far.
Meanwhile, log leaders Gor will be taking on Police FC at the Police Sacco Grounds, in a game that has had more pressure off the field than on it. Police FC have hiked ticket prices for the game, with VVIP tickets going for Sh3,000, VIP tickets for Sh2,000 while terrace tickets will retail at Sh1500.
The hike in prices, almost 10 times more than the usual Sh200/Sh500 has irked everyone, including head coach Jonathan McKinstry.
“The decision by Kenya Police FC to increase ticket prices 8-fold when they host Gor Mahia this weekend, at a time when the cost of living is so high, is abhorrent, predatory and with complete disregard to the most important stakeholders in the game,” McKinstry said in a post on social media platform X, formerly Twitter.
He adds; “If they so wish, it is very simple to limit the capacity of a game without penalizing the loyal fans who are the lifeblood of the game.”
Possibility of fewer fans for Gor

But even with the possibility that their fans might not turn up as many as they usually are due to the hike in prices and limited availability, McKinstry says his side is ready to do duty on and maintain their unbeaten run in the league so far.
K’Ogalo are 10 points ahead of second placed City Stars and a win will pull that gap further away to 13 points, pending other matches to be played this weekend.
Elsewhere in the late kick off in Machakos, relegation fighting Sofapaka will take on struggling KCB. Batoto ba Mungu won their last match against Kakamega Homeboyz, a victory that pulled them to 14th in the satandings with 20 points, one above the drop zone.
Victory against KCB will be massive for them as it will potentially hoist them to 12th.
