On Monday, February 26, Paulo Dybala scored a hat-trick as Roma secured a crucial 3-2 victory over Torino during the Roma vs Torino match.

Dybala opened the scoring for The Yellow and Reds in the 42nd minute before completing his treble with a brace in the second period. He scored a penalty, one brilliant long-range strike and a sweet side footed finish from a tight angle to score his first hat-trick since August 2017 while still playing for Juventus.

“I’ve wanted to score a hat-trick for a while. I already wanted it against Cagliari, but it arrived  and it was used to win. It was a difficult moment in the match. Torino was creating danger for us and the match could have evolved into all ways. I kicked and went to celebrate with the fans, to whom I owe a huge thank you.” Dybala said after the match, as per Get Football.

Roma have now made it five wins from six since manager Danielle De Rossi took charge following the sacking of Jose Mourinho.

Roma Vs Torino

Roma manager De Rossi made five changes to the squad that played Feyenoord in the Europa League on Thursday as he looked to ensure his side play in Europe next season.

Leeds United loanee Rasmus Krikstensen, who was one of those changes, could have given Roma the lead early on after a brilliant counter-attack but his left-footed effort hit the post with only the keeper to beat.

It looked as though the game was going to end 0-0 at halftime before substitute Saba Sazonov fouled Sarmon in the box. Dybala made no mistake from the penalty spot as he sent Milinkovic-Savic the wrong way to open the scoring in the 42nd minute of the Roma vs Torino match.

But Torino found their back into the game barely two minutes later as Duvan Zapata rose highest to guide a corner home. The Colombian has now been involved in eight goals against Roma in eleven matches (scoring six and assisting two).

Roma took the lead again shortly before the hour mark when Dybala produced a moment of brilliance by unleashing a superb strike from distance. Torino tried to find the equalizer again but things went from bad to worse for them when Dybala added Roma’s third in the 69th minute.

Substitute Dean Huisjen scored an own goal in the 89th minute but it wasn’t enough for Torino to pull a comeback at Stadio Olimpico. The visitors fell to back-to-back defeats in Serie A for the first time since October.

Roma Not Afraid of Brighton

Roma have remained sixth on the standings but have closed in on Atalanta with 44 points. Meanwhile, Torino are tenth with 36 points.

The Yellow and Reds take on Monza on Saturday before hosting Premier League side Brighton in Europa League. De Rossi has said his Roma side has nothing to be afraid of ahead of Brighton’s clash.

“[They are] a strong and balanced side with a coach who remains one of the best. However, Roma have nothing to fear, because we are every bit as strong. Maybe some games are easier to prepare than others and Brighton might cause me a few sleepless nights, but we have to find the right solutions.” De Rossi told Football Italia, as per Eurosport.

Roma have been on red-hot form since the return of De Rossi to the club in a managerial capacity a few weeks ago, losing just one match to Serie A leaders Inter Milan.
