10. Asante Kotoko – Ghana 

Ranked tenth on the list of the most successful clubs in Africa is Ghana’s Asante Kotoko. The club has won a staggering 82 trophies in their illustrious history, including 2 CAF Champions League titles.

9. Enyimba International – Nigeria

Also called Aba Warriors, Enyimba International is one of the most popular clubs in Nigeria. The club was founded as a state-owned club in November 1976 and has since achieved success winning several trophies, including 2 CAF Champions League and 2 Super Cups. They won those four cups between 2003 and 2005.

One of the oldest clubs in Africa, Esperance de Tunis was founded in 1919. They have achieved great success over the years, winning 29 Tunisian League Professionelle titles, 15 Tunisian Cups, 4 Tunisian Super Cups, 1 CAF Cup, 1 CAF Super Cup, 3 Arab Cup Champions Cup, 1 Arab Super Cup and 1 Afro-Asian Cup.

JS Kabylie is an Algerian club founded in 1954. They are ranked among the most successful clubs in Africa because of the success they have achieved over the years. JS Kabylie have won a record 14 Algerian League titles, 7 African Cups, 3 Cups Winners Cup, 1 Super Cup and 1 CAF Cup.

6. Hafia FC Guinea – Guinea 

Hafia FC Guinea is a club situated in Conakry, Guinea and was founded in 1951. They were a dominant force in the 1960s and 1970s and despite losing their spark in recent years, they still hold the record for the most domestic titles. They have so far claimed 15 league titles, 4 Guinea Coupe Nationale and 3 CAF Champions League.

5. Canon Yaounde – Cameroon 

Founded in 1930, Canon Yaounde is a club based in Cameroon. At one time, they were among the dominant clubs in Africa, winning 10 domestic trophies from 1970 to 1980. The club’s other achievements include 12 Cameroonian Cups, 3 African Champions’ Cup and 1 African Cup Winners Cup.

Founded in 1949, Raja Casablanca has since grown to become one of the most successful clubs in Africa. Locally, they have won 11 Moroccan League titles and 8 Moroccan Throne Cups. The Casablanca-based club has also won 1 CAF Confederations Cup, 2 CAF Super Cups, 1 CAF Cup, 1 Arab Cup and 1 Afro-Asian Club Championship.

3. TP Mazembe – DR Congo

TP Mazembe, also known as Tout Puissant Mazembe, is a professional football club founded in 1939 and based in Lubumbashi, in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). TP Mazembe is one of the most successful football clubs in Africa, having won over 35 trophies.

Formerly known as Englebert, TP Mazembe have won the Linafoot, the top division of Congolese football, a record 17 times, making them the most successful club in Congolese football history. Other trophies they have won include the Congolese Cup 9 times, the Congolese Super Cup 7 times, the CAF Champions League 5 times, the CAF Confederation Cup twice and the CAF Super Cup three times.

2. Zamalek SC – Egypt 

Based in Egypt, Zamalek SC are not only known for their performance in Egypt but also the African continent. They have won 12 Egyptian Premier League titles, 26 Egyptian Cups and the Egyptian Super Cup 4 times. Zamalek have also claimed 5 CAF Champions League titles, 3 CAF Super Cup titles, 1 African Cup Winners’ Cup titles as well as 2 Afro-Asian Cup titles.

Established in 1907, Al Ahly Sporting Club of Egypt takes the number one spot in the list of the most successful clubs in Africa, as per sources. Nicknamed The Red Devils, Al Ahly have proved to be a dominant force not only in Egypt but Africa at large.

Al Ahly has so far won 40 national league titles, 36 national cup titles and 10 national super cup titles. Additionally, they have also claimed 19 Cups, including 8 CAF Champions League titles. They won bronze at the 2006 FIFA Club World Cup.
