After the success with the Morocco national team, the player got a path to Europe, joining Dijon in Ligue 2 where he helped the club gain promotion to Ligue 1 in his first season. After two successful seasons with the club, he signed for Rennes. His performance earned him a nomination to the prestigious Prix Marc-Vivien Foe, awarded to the best African player in Ligue 1.

After the Qatar World Cup in 2022, he was on a hunt by the top clubs and West Ham United signed him, making him the most expensive Moroccan defender ever.

Nayef Aguerd Personal Life

Born on March 30 1996, in the Port City of Kenitra, Morocco, Aguerd developed his early love for football on the streets and local pitches and was enrolled at Kenitra AC, the city’s leading club from a tender age. These formative years fostered his raw talent and laid the foundation for his future successes.

His potential caught the eye of scouts for the Mohammed VI Football Academy, a national training centre in Morocco, and this offered him high-level training and exposure to talented peers.

Having joined Mohammed VI Academy at 12 years old, it is assumed that he completed his primary education before joining the football academy as it is known to provide academic education alongside its intensive football training. So, it is likely that the player received secondary education while still training in football.

Estimating Nayef Aguerd’s wealth is somehow speculative due to the private nature of financial details. However, we can base it on several factors including, salary, transfer fees, endorsements and investments.

As a player for West Ham United, he earns about $4.5 million, a substantial amount that significantly contributes to his wealth. We can also base it on his transfer fee from Stade Rennais to West Ham United worth $38 million.

His prominence as a Moroccan international player could also attract endorsement deals. Just like other players, he may also have business ventures in his home country that generate income and property like in real estate.

My passion is capturing the untold journey of global athletes from humble beginnings to superstars in their own right.
