  • Fulham hosted London neighbors West Ham United in a Sunday evening Premier League clash
  • The hosts came off scoring five past Nottingham Forest in the midweek and looked motivated enough from earlier on
  • Another fine display from Fulham saw them hit another five securing a 5-0 victory over West Ham at the Craven Cottage

In a stunning display of attacking prowess, Fulham notched their second consecutive 5-0 victory, this time dismantling West Ham at Craven Cottage in the Premier League. The win not only propelled them into the top half of the Premier League but also solidified their reputation as a formidable force in English football. Under the astute guidance of their manager, David Moyes, West Ham became the latest casualty in Fulham’s goal-scoring extravaganza.

The five-goal spectacle unfolded just four days after Fulham’s emphatic triumph over Nottingham Forest, showcasing their relentless attacking intent and growing confidence on the pitch. Raul Jimenez, who has been pivotal in Fulham’s recent success, continued his impressive run by opening the scoring, bringing his personal tally to four goals in five games. This resurgence is particularly noteworthy for Jimenez, who had not found the back of the net in the Premier League since March 2022 during his tenure with Wolves.

The match against West Ham started with a promising free-kick from James Ward-Prowse, forcing Bernd Leno into an early diving save. However, this would prove to be a mere glimpse of hope for West Ham, as Fulham quickly asserted their dominance. A gilt-edged chance went amiss for Fulham early on, with Jimenez’s exquisite ball finding Willian, whose shot failed to trouble Lukasz Fabianski.

Undeterred by the missed opportunity, Fulham capitalized on their possession and attacking flair. Jimenez’s fine run of form continued as he leapt to head home from Joao Palhinha’s precise cross, giving Fulham the lead. The advantage was swiftly doubled just after the half-hour mark when Willian expertly curled the ball into the far corner, showcasing his individual brilliance.

West Ham found themselves on the back foot, struggling to contain Fulham’s relentless attacking waves. Jarrod Bowen missed a golden opportunity, shooting straight at Leno when presented with space in front of goal. Fulham extended their lead as Tosin Adarabioyo rose high to head in a corner, punishing West Ham for defensive lapses.

Despite Willian’s unfortunate injury leading to his halftime substitution, Harry Wilson seamlessly stepped into the fold. Wilson had a chance to score early in the second half, and he made amends by curling in a superb 20-yard strike, extending Fulham’s lead to four goals and sending the Craven Cottage faithful into raptures.

David Moyes attempted to alter the course of the game by introducing Emerson and Konstantinos Mavropanos, but Fulham remained in control. Wilson, showcasing his versatility and clinical finishing, contributed to the fifth goal by squaring the ball for Carlos Vinicius to tap in, completing the rout.

The resounding victory over West Ham showcased Fulham’s current form and their potential to make a significant impact in the Premier League. Raul Jimenez’s resurgence has been a catalyst, but it’s the collective effort, attacking prowess, and defensive solidity that have positioned Fulham as a rising force. As the season progresses, Fulham’s fans can look forward to more exciting performances and the possibility of establishing themselves as a consistent contender in English football.
