Throughout the history of the Premier League, several players have scored goals. However, who are the top 10 oldest goal scorers in the history of the football division?
Here are the oldest Premier League goalscorers in the history of the league.
5. Stuart Pearce – 38 years

Stuart Pearce had an unusual path to the pinnacle of the game, but the left-back made sure he stayed. Pearce started his football career with non-league Wealdstone, where he notably combined his part-time playing career with an electrician’s work.
Professional teams were taken aback by the defender’s no-nonsense style, and Pearce went on to play for 78 caps for England and have stints at Coventry, Nottingham Forest, Newcastle, West Ham, and Manchester City.
Throughout his career, Pearce’s devastating left foot was a danger to goals. In 2000, when West Ham defeated Southampton 3-2, he scored his final Premier League goal at the age of 38.
4. Thiago Silva – 39 years
In a dramatic 4–4 tie against Manchester City in the 12th game of the season, Thiago Silva became the oldest Chelsea goal scorer in the Premier League for almost ten years when he struck the bottom corner of the net. Silva joined the team on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain in 2020, and this was his sixth Premier League goal for the team.
There were concerns about Silva’s ability to withstand the demands of the Premier League when Chelsea chose to recruit him from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer in 2020.
Rather, the Brazilian has proven why he is seen as one of the greatest center-backs of his period.
Before starting his adventure in England, the seasoned defender had spent many prosperous years playing for both AC Milan and the French powerhouses around Europe. The 39-year-old is still among the greatest center-backs in the Premier League despite getting older, with intellectual ability surpassing any physical decline.
3. Ryan Giggs – 39 years

The Welsh winger Ryan Giggs became the most decorated player in English football history during the more than two decades he spent at the top with Manchester United.
Giggs joined the squad as a youngster and became a regular at Manchester United much into his 40th birthday. During his record-breaking career at one club, he won 13 league crowns and two Champions League trophies.
Just three players in the Premier League have both scored 100 goals and provided 100 assists; Giggs’ last goal for the Red Devils came two months after he turned 39.
In 2013, Giggs scored the second goal to complete a 2-0 victory against QPR, commemorating his 999th senior appearance for both the club and the nation at Loftus Road.
2. Dean Windass – 39 years
With the help of the forward’s incredible goal, Hull City defeated Bristol City 1-0 in the play-off final to secure their first-ever Premier League promotion in the 104-year history of the club. Dean Windass turned back the clock to lead Hull City to victory in 2007–08.
Following Premier League promotion, Windass’s role was diminished; nonetheless, he scored to secure a 2-2 draw for Hull against Portsmouth and earn a spot on this list.
After coming off the bench, the 39-year-old helped Phil Brown’s team win when his header beat Portsmouth defender Noé Pamarot.
1. Teddy Sheringham – 40 years

Teddy Sheringham, who scored his last goal in the Premier League at the age of forty years, eight months, and twenty-four days, is the only quadragenarian striker in Premier League history.
One of the best goal scorers in the Premier League’s first ten years, Sheringham took home the Golden Boot with Spurs in the division’s initial 1992–93 season. After joining Manchester United in 1997, he went on to win three league titles and the Champions League.
Up to 2006, Sheringham scored goals in the Premier League while playing for Spurs again and for West Ham and Portsmouth.
After leading West Ham back into the Premier League, he became the oldest goal scorer in Premier League history on Boxing Day 2006, when West Ham lost 2-1 to his previous team, Portsmouth.
Sheringham made his final appearance in the division at the age of 40 years and 270 days, making him the oldest outfield player the division has ever seen.
