American billionaire Mark Cuban has no presidency plans as rurmour has it following his move to sell a major stake in his NBA club Dallas Mavericks.

Cuban sold the team to Las Vegas Sands owner and fifth-richest woman in America, Miriam Adelson. He went public with these details on Tuesday.

What sparked rumours about his ambition to run for the 2024 Presidential Election in the US was his exit from Shark Tank, a reality TV show.

Cuban was on the show for 16 years and he was nearly the face of it but is now off which sent signals that he could be readying for a political campaign.

He has always harbored presidential aspirations. There were talks of the American billionaire running for president in the recent past.

He stated he was thinking about running as a Republican against Donald Trump in an OBJECTified episode from 2017. However, his family apparently disapproved his interest to join politics.

Cuban gave a clear statement when asked about his possible presidential bid in 2024. He told TMZ that he has no interest in running for the presidency next year.

He reiterated this position by sending an email to NBC News stating that he “has no plans to run”.

Cuban lightheartedly added that his family ‘would disown him’ if he went after such. Although he harboured ambitions to run against Trump, he admits that his life is outside politics.

He has consistently maintained that his passion lies in entrepreneurship and social impact, not politics.

“I’m much more effective outside of government, where I can be more direct and have a bigger impact. I can do more to help people by supporting causes I believe in and using my resources to make a positive difference,” he once told the press.

Even after giving up ownership of the Mavericks, insider reports suggest Cuban will still be in charge of basketball operations.

This part of the agreement, though, has drawn criticism. Former Miami Marlins president David Samson voiced his reservations, particularly on The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz.

Samson suggests that the reporting may be erroneous because he thinks it improbable that control could be maintained after selling a majority stake.

Pundits covering politics and business are closely monitoring Cuban’s next steps. Even though he has categorically denied having any desire to run for office, his recent business choices have undoubtedly raised more concerns than they have answered regarding his future plans.
