Jean Marie Dongou is a Cameroonian professional football player who plays as a forward for the Japanese club FC Osaka and the Cameroon national team.

The forward joined Eto’o foundation where he was identified as one of the most promising young players in Cameroon and was offered a place at the La Masia academy, Barcelona’s world-famous youth academy.

At the academy, young Jean progressed through the ranks and made his debut for the B team. Two years later, he made his first-team debut for Barcelona and went on to make more appearances and scored two goals.

His time at Barcelona was mostly spent on loan at other clubs like CD Lugo, Zamora CF, FC Honka, Anag, Karditsas and FC Osaka, eventually joining FC Osaka permanently.

Dongou’s hard work and determination are the main ladders that have seen him through to Barcelona. This made him secure a place at Eto’o’s foundation too.

Jean Marie Dongou’s Educational Background

There is no information about the player’s educational background. However, it is possible that he attended his early schooling days in Cameroon before moving to Spain to join FC Barcelona’s La Masia academy.

The academy has produced some of the best footballers in the world and it places strong emphasis on education and players are required to attend school alongside their football training.

Jean Marie Dongou was born on April 20 1995 in Douala, Cameroon where he grew up in a poor neighborhood and began playing football at a young age.

While playing street football, he was spotted by a talent scout for Samuel Eto’o’s Foundation and was offered a place at the La Masia Academy, FC Barcelona’s world-famous youth academy.

He quickly passed through the youth ranks at Barcelona and made his debut for the B team. Two years later, he made his first-team debut for Barcelona in a Copa del Rey match against FC Cartagena.

The forward is very passionate about his country and he represented them at the U-17, U-20 and senior levels.

Due to the various places he has lived in, he speaks fluently in English, French, Spanish and Japanese.

Apart from his passion for football, in his free time, he loves music and also loves playing guitar and piano.

Dongou is relatively young in his football career and is on the verge of growth in wealth and professionalism. However, he has donated money to several charity initiatives in his home country.

Career

Dongou was born and brought up in Douala, Cameroon where he played football at an early age and his playing skills acquired him a place at Eto’o academy.
