The player attended Austin Academy in Garland, Texas, for his first two years of high school before he transferred to Garland High School for his junior and senior years.

At the school, he became a star basketball player and was named the Texas 5A Player of the Year.

After high school, the player attended Arizona State University, where he played college basketball for the Sun Devils and became a two-time All-Pac-10 selection and was named the Pac Player of the Year.

Diogu also led the Arizona State team to the NCAA Tournament for two years. After his junior season at the University, he declared for the 2005 NBA draft and was selected by the Golden State Warriors with the ninth overall pick.

Having been selected by the Warriors, Diogu played for them for two seasons before he was traded to the Indiana Pacers. He also played for the Portland Trail Blazers and Los Angeles Clippers before he left the NBA.
