Amad Diallo sustained a knee injury during the most recent preseason match against Arsenal, and Manchester United have confirmed that he will miss the beginning of the 2023–24 season as a result.
The Ivory Coast international returned to Old Trafford this summer after a productive loan stint at Sunderland, where he made 42 appearances and recorded 14 goals and four assists.
Amad began the first two preseason friendly for Man United against Leeds United and Lyon before coming off the bench against Arsenal on July 21.
However, due to a knee injury, the attacker played for just 13 minutes against the Gunners.
In the following three preseason games against Wrexham, Real Madrid, and Borussia Dortmund during the team’s tour of the United States, the 21-year-old was sidelined.

The extent of the injuries was previously unknown, but Man United has now disclosed that he won’t be available for the first few weeks of the new season.
Before starting their 2023–24 Premier League season on August 14 against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Man United will play friendlies against Lens and Athletic Bilbao this weekend.
Kobbie Mainoo, a fellow young player, will also miss the beginning of the season because of an ankle injury he sustained during a recent preseason match against Real Madrid.
It is unknown how much football the 18-year-old will miss as a result of the problem, despite predictions that he will completely break through into the first team during the forthcoming season.
Ten Hag reportedly wants to see Amad during the Ivorian’s visit to the United States before making a final decision about his participation in the upcoming season.
Since joining Man United from Atalanta BC in January 2021, the young player has only appeared nine times, contributing one assist and scoring one.

Although they have not yet made a formal bid for the Fiorentina midfielder, Manchester United is ‘working on’ a deal to capture Sofyan Amrabat.
Erik ten Hag is attempting to sign Amrabat, whose contract with the Italian team is up in 12 months, in order to expand his midfield options before the transfer window closes.
Manchester United is interested in the midfielder, according to Fabrizio Romano, although rumors of a formal offer have been deemed “premature.”
Before shifting their attention to a defensive midfielder, United is focused on concluding a deal to sign Atalanta attacker Rasmus Hojland. The Dane underwent a physical with the Red Devils this week.
After Fiorentina’s 4-0 friendly victory against Grosseto on Tuesday, Amrabat talked about his future and wouldn’t rule out sticking with Vincenzo Italiano’s team for the upcoming season.
