Restricted free agent guard, Ayo Dosunmu, has reached an agreement with Chicago Bulls to sign a three-year contract worth $21 million with the NBA team, as confirmed by his agent, Mike Lindeman of Excel Sports Management, on Friday.

The Bulls officially announced Dosunmu’s signing on Sunday, revealing that it is a multi-year deal; however, specific financial details were not disclosed at the time.

Having risen to prominence after being selected in the second round of the 2021 NBA draft, Dosunmu’s performance earned him a spot on the All-Rookie team. Over the course of two NBA seasons, he has become an essential rotational guard for the Bulls, consistently contributing despite the team’s struggles with injuries.

During the previous season, the 23-year-old Dosunmu started in 51 games and showcased his versatility, averaging 8.6 points per game. His impact extended to the defensive end, where he played a pivotal role in the Bulls’ impressive top-five-rated defence. Notably, Dosunmu held opponents to a 44% shooting accuracy as the closest defender, a performance that placed him in the top 10 among players who defended at least 700 shots, based on data from Second Spectrum and ESPN Stats & Information.

Dosunmu’s development and adaptability on the court have been crucial for the Bulls, who have relied on his skills to fortify their roster and maintain a competitive edge.
