Bogdan Bogdanovic is a Serbian professional basketball player with an estimated net worth of about $62 million. He plays as a guard for the Atlanta Hawks and the Serbian national team.

His wealth source is primarily from his basketball career and is currently playing for the Atlanta Hawks of the National Basketball Association [NBA] though he also has some endorsements with some top brand companies like Nike which also pay him.

Bogdan was drafted by the Phoenix Suns with the 27th overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft and was then traded to Sacramento Kings where he spent four seasons with the team.

He is a member of the Serbia national team and helped them win a silver medal at the 2017 EuroBasket and a bronze medal two years later at the FIBA World Cup.

The guard can shoot from anywhere on the court, a good passer and rebounder who has become a key player for the Atlanta Hawks and the Serbian national team.

In recent seasons, Bogdanovic suffered injuries that limited his play time, missing out on the 2022 NBA playoffs due to a knee injury. However, we expect that he will be part of the Hawks in this current season.

How rich is Bogdanovic?

Bogdanovic is a wealthy player whose current net worth is estimated to be $62 million, primarily from his basketball career and partly from some endorsement deals with some top brand companies.

His current salary with the NBA is about $18 million per annum, having signed a contract worth $68 million for a term of four years. He also has some sponsorship deals with Nike, Turkish Airlines and Spalding, that generate income.

In addition, the player owns real estate portfolios in Serbia and the United States and has a stake in several businesses in Serbia. He is also the Serbia national team’s brand ambassador.

Education Background

Bagdanovic ‘s educational background is not extensive as other NBA players but it is clear that he is a well-rounded individual who is passionate about his career and physical education.

The guard attended the faculty of Kinesiology at the University of Belgrade where he studied physical education and sports science.

Bogdan signed his first professional contract with KK Partizan making his EuroLeague debut with the team, later invited to play for the Serbian national team.

He then signed a four-year contract with Fenerbahce while Partizan also received a buyout from Fenerbahce, then joined Sacramento Kings after being selected by the Phoenix Suns with the 27th overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft.

The guard signed a four-year contract with Atlanta Hawks worth $72 million, suffered a knee injury and was ruled out for some time until his recovery.

He represented the Serbian national team in the European U18 Championship and while still under Partizan, he was selected to play for Serbia’s national team  U19 at the FIBA U19 World Championship in Latvia.

In the senior team, he represented Serbia in the 2016 Summer Olympics where they won a silver medal after losing to the United States.

He also represented Serbia in the EuroBasket 2017 where they won a silver medal and two years later at the FIBA Basketball World Cup.

He has achieved so much in his career and here are a few of his achievements:

  • He was named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team in 2018
  • He helped Serbia win a silver medal at the 2017 EuroBasket
  • He helped Serbia win a Bronze medal at the 2019 FIBA World Cup
  • He helped the Atlanta Hawks win over the New York Knicks in 2021

The guard has achieved so much but it is the dream of every player to win an NBA Championship and that would be his ultimate accomplishment. He also desires to help Serbia win a gold medal at the Olympics since they have never won a gold medal in basketball.

What happened to Bogdanovic?

The player suffered an injury in 2022  known as Achilles tendinitis, something that saw him miss out on the year’s playoffs. However, we expect him to be back on the pitch and be part of the Hawks’ rotation for season 2023-24.

Due to the knee injury surgery, he was not able to play for his Serbia national team, when they needed him the most to qualify for the 2023 FIBA World Cup though they made it through.
Where is Bogdanovic currently?

Bogdanovic is currently in Atlanta, Georgia recuperating after a knee surgery and is expected to be back very soon after recovery. His performance at the Atlanta Hawks was impressive and his fans are eagerly waiting for his return as well as his teammates.

My passion is capturing the untold journey of global athletes from humble beginnings to superstars in their own right.
