- Mayele has played in Yanga for two seasons

Congolese striker Fiston Kalala Mayele has moved to Egypt, signing for moneybags Pyramids FC for an undisclosed fee. Mayele had been a huge subject of transfer speculation after his performances with Yanga over the last two seasons.
He was the top scorer of the CAF Confederation Cup, scoring seven goals, all starting from the group phase all through to the final. He was also the Tanzanian Premier League top scorer and Most Valuable Player.
“I want to thank my teammates, coaches, management and the fans for the support they gave me at Yanga. It is a tough decision but I had to make it. I came here and I was accepted as family and felt as though I was back home in Lubumbashi,” Mayele said.
He added; “I am going to look for a new challenge. We have sat down with the management and we had an agreement, despite their efforts to have me stay. It was a tough decision, but I had to go. Yanga is home and you never know about tomorrow.”
Mayele arrived in Yanga from Congolese side AS Vita Club, where he had finished as the top scorer in their top flight in the 2020-21 season.

He signed a two-year contract with Wanajangwani and in both years won the league title and the historic moment was last season when he helped the team reach the final of the CAF Confederation Cup.
Meanwhile, the club has signed Ghanaian forward Hafiz Wontah Konkoni from Bechem United as a possible replacement for Mayele.
He is the eighth new signing at Yanga, with the club having already signed Nickson Kibabage from Singida Fountain Gate, Gift Fred from SC Villa of Uganda, Kouassi Attohoula Yao and Peodoh Pacôme Zouzoua all from ASEC Mimosas of Ivory Coast.
Others are midfielders Jonás Mkude from Simba SC, Skudu Makudubela from Marumo Gallants of South Africa and Maxi Mpia Nzengeli from AS Maniema Union of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
At the same time, the club has seen Congolese defender Yannick Bangala depart for Azam FC, becoming the second Yanga player to cross over after Feisal Salum whose departure was controversial and had to take an intervention from President Samia Suluhu Hassan to go through.
Bangala was snapped up also from Vita Club just like Mayele, and was a consistent figure in the team. He has also chosen to undertake a new challenge and will join up with the team once they land back from their pre-season camp in Tunisia.

Meanwhile in other Tanzanian transfer news, Mozambican international Luis Miquissone has returned to Simba SC, after three years out of Mzimbazi. Miquisonne had left Simba for Egyptian Premier League side Al Ahly, and also had a short stint on loan with Saudi Premier League side Abha.
The Mozambican had a difficult first spell with Ahly, and after failing to hit the right notes, was shipped out on loan to Saudi.
Once that spell ended, and he announced that he had severed ties with Ahly, Simba pounced and grabbed him back to Dar es Salaam.
“Miquisonne has returned to Msimbazi. We are delighted to welcome him back,” a statement from the club read.
He is set to join the rest of the team in their pre-season training camp in Turkey. The addition of the speedy attacker is set to be a boost to Simba, especially after the departure of Pape Ousmane Sakho who has left the club for French second tier side QSM.
Simba are looking to wrestle the Premier League title back from their arch rivals Yanga, and have been strengthening their squad.
