The highly anticipated matchup between Victor Wembanyama, the No. 1 draft pick for San Antonio, and Brandon Miller, the No. 2 pick for Charlotte, is set to take place on the opening day of the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. The NBA has scheduled the San Antonio vs. Charlotte game for July 7, which coincides with the first day of the Las Vegas event. This game will be a rematch of their upcoming game at the California Classic in Sacramento on July 3.
Both Wembanyama and Spurs coach Gregg Popovich have confirmed that the talented French player will participate in the summer league. However, it remains unclear how many games he will play and whether he will participate in both the Sacramento and Las Vegas events.
In anticipation of this exciting matchup, the NBA has scheduled the San Antonio vs. Charlotte game as a prime-time event on the first day of the Las Vegas Summer League. Moreover, the game, along with a matchup between Portland and Houston featuring No. 3 pick Scoot Henderson and No. 4 pick Amen Thompson, will be televised on ESPN.

Wembanyama expressed his excitement about wearing his first Spurs jersey, indicating his eagerness to showcase his skills in the Summer League.
The Las Vegas Summer League will take place from July 7 to 17, overlapping with the inaugural NBA Con event, which is a new celebration of basketball and culture held at the beginning of the tournament.
Other notable matchups in the summer league include a potential showdown between the Thompson twins, Amen and Ausar Thompson, when the Rockets face the Detroit Pistons on July 9. San Antonio will also face Portland on the same day, possibly setting up another meeting between Wembanyama and Henderson, who previously played against each other near Las Vegas in exhibitions featuring Wembanyama’s French team and Henderson’s G League Ignite.
The summer league playoffs will feature four teams, with the semifinals scheduled for July 16 and the championship game set for July 17. All teams will play four games before the playoff field is determined, and non-playoff teams will have an additional fifth game on July 15 or 16.
On July 14, the summer teams of Denver and Miami, the franchises that recently competed in the NBA Finals, will face each other, providing fans with a chance to see some familiar faces from the championship series.
