Premier League club Chelsea are set to open talks with Brighton for Moises Caicedo, Fabrizio Romano reports. The two clubs will begin the talks in the next 24/48 hours.

According to Fabrizio, personal terms are not an issue as the player is keen on the move. Chelsea will come prepared as they know Brighton will ask for substantial amount of fee.

Moises Caicedo has been identified as the Blues’ priority signing in the centre of the midfield this summer. Chelsea has been showing interest in him since the summer transfer window opened.

Caicedo has four years remaining on his contract with Brighton. According to football.london, Brighton want a fee of 80 million euros for Moises Caicedo’s transfer. However, the Blues are reluctant in paying the price.

If Brighton still insist that they want that huge amount of the talented midfielder, Chelsea may look to find a solution where they do not pay the amount at once. The two clubs could agree that the 80 million euros to be split via add-ons and instalments.

This is the same method Chelsea used with Enzo Fernandez. The Blues’ signed the World Cup winner in the January transfer window from Benfica for a club record fee of 106 million euros. However, the amount is to be paid in instalments, which helps the Blues with their transfer budget for one specific window.

Enzo Fernandez has shown his amazing attributes on the pitch in the past few months he has been at Chelsea. The Blues are now working to find a perfect partner for him next season.

N’Golo Kante officially left the club a few days ago after agreeing a move to Saudi Arabia after the expiry of his contract. Mateo Kovacic also left the club and officially became a Manchester City player on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek is expected to depart in the next few days. The 27-year-old England international has already agreed to join Serie A side AC Milan and the Blues will receive around 18 million euros for the transfer.

Another player whose future remains in doubt is Conor Gallagher. The young midfielder has interest from other teams and Chelsea will not stop him from leaving if the right offer arrives.

Since Chelsea have released some of their best midfielders, a perfect partner must be found for Enzo Fernandez. And that’s why they are keen on Moises Caicedo, who has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.

The Blues have also held talks with Southampton to sign Romeo Lavia. However, they have not been any report about Chelsea’s interest on the player in the past few days. It wouldn’t be a surprise if both Moises Caicedo and Lavia join Chelsea this summer transfer window.
