He grew up alongside his elder siblings at Fez, which is the second largest city in Morocco after Casablanca. Their father operated a football-loving and middle-class household. Back then, they didn’t live in area surrounded by wealthy people.

They lived in a poor neighborhood in the city of Fez where his father could afford. His parents are simple and peace loving. Although not rich, they live comfortably as Moroccan citizens.

Youssef realized his destiny of becoming a footballer at an early age during which street football was the order of the day. Their king created a soccer initiative aimed at uniting street connected children and he was among the beneficiaries.

He made his senior debut for Club Malaga in 2016 where he played for two seasons before joining Club Leganes, playing 49 League games in season 2018-2020, scoring 13 goals.

Youssef joined Club Sevilla at a reported fee of $22 million. At the club, he helped the team win the 2019-20 UEFA Europa League by scoring a late equalizer in a game away draw against CFR Cluj in the 32nd round. Sevilla was able to go through on the away goals rule.

He also scored a goal in their win over Roma in the 16th round. Later on, Sevilla went ahead and won the tournament.

He signed a five-and-a-half-year contract with Sevilla at a reported fee of $22 million, which will expire on June 30 2025. Since then, he is entitled to a pay of $7 million every year, until his contract expires. From the contracts, he was able to see his current net worth.

Youssef earned his international debut for Morocco in 2016 and so far, he has 53 caps and 16 goals for his nation. In 2017, 2019 and 2021, he played for his national team in the Africa Cup of Nations.
