Moussa was born on April 14 1991 in Les Ulis, France to his Malian parents. He is a practising Muslim and moved to Saudi Arabia for reasons of faith and has a brother by the name Houssein Marega.

In 2016, Marega was signed by Club Porto with his friend, Maritime goalkeeper on contracts lasting until 2020. His buyout clause was set at $44 million. Mid that month, he was loaned out to Vitoria de Guimaraes for the upcoming season.

His debut was against his former Club Maritimo where he scored the second goal. He returned to Porto scoring twice in an opening game in the 2017-18 season when he played as a substitute in the first half.

His performance picked up and began attracting Premier League, Manchester United, and Chelsea. Porto won the league in five years becoming their top scorer.

In 2018, he was awarded for being Porto’s best player of the calendar year. Initially, he had not scored a goal in a European match. However, he scored a goal in six consecutive appearances in UEFA Champions League in 2018-19.

His first goal was a win over Galatasaray and the ending one was over Roma. This saw Club Porto in the quarter-finals in four years. In early 2020, he returned to Vitoria and scored a winning goal. Remember he suffered criticism from the fans earlier when he joined the Club after failing to meet their expectations. This time, he walked his head high.

He won over Sporting with his team winning the title with two games left to play. In 2021 February, he scored a goal in a win over Juventus in the 2020-21 UEFA Champions League in the 16th round.

In mid-2021, Al-Hilal, a Saudi Arabian Club signed Marega on a three-year contract as a transfer fee, with a salary of $5.5 million per year. At the club, he won several matches including AFC Champions League in his first year.

He also played at the 2022 FIFA Club World Cup held in Morocco, scoring in the final in a 5-3 loss to Real Madrid and clearly, his net worth value is from his career earnings.
