Early life
Christian Eriksen was born in Middelfart, Denmark, on February 14, 1992. Eriksen first began participating in football at an early age and joined his neighborhood team, Middelfart G&BK.
He soon distinguished himself as a gifted player, and Odense Boldklub, one of the premier clubs in Denmark, noticed him. At the age of thirteen, he entered their academy.

On January 17, 2010, Eriksen made his Ajax professional debut against NAC Breda in a league match. Two months later, he scored his first goal in the 6-0 Dutch Cup victory over Go Ahead Eagles. Eriksen contributed to Ajax’s Eredivisie championship in his rookie campaign, making 44 games across all competitions while scoring seven goals and dishing out 16 assists.
Eriksen continued to be a key player for Ajax during the following several seasons, aiding the group win three straight Eredivisie championships from 2011 to 2014.
Eriksen was signed by English Premier League team Tottenham Hotspur in 2013 and played there for six seasons before transferring to Inter Milan in 2020. Eriksen played a crucial role for Tottenham when he was there, assisting them in 2019 to the UEFA Champions League final. He appeared in 305 games for the Spurs and scored 69 goals.
Eriksen originally found it difficult to earn a spot in Inter Milan’s starting lineup, but he eventually started to click at the end of the 2020–21 season. He contributed to Inter’s 2021 Serie A championship, their first in more than ten years.
As a result of having an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator installed after experiencing a heart attack during a match at Euro 2020, Eriksen was informed in October 2021 that he was no longer qualified to play in Serie A. Consequently, he signed a six-month loan agreement with Premier League club Brentford in January 2022.
In July 2022, Manchester United purchased him on a three-year contract after he made an impression upon returning to the Premier League. He was in the winning team when United defeated Newcastle United 2-0 in the EFL Cup final in February 2023 despite missing it.

Eriksen made an impression at the U17 level, scoring nine goals in 16 games, and was called up to the senior team in 2010. He became the fourth-youngest full-time international for Denmark after making his debut in a friendly match against Austria. Additionally, he participated in the 2010 FIFA World Cup as the youngest player in the field.
He also had a significant impact in Denmark’s ability to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, scoring 11 goals in 12 games. Eriksen contributed to Denmark’s 1-0 victory over Peru in their tournament opener by scoring one of the goals of the competition.
Eriksen has also competed for Denmark at the UEFA European Championships in 2012, 2016, and 2020. During Denmark’s opening match against Finland at Euro 2020, Eriksen experienced a medical issue on the field when he went into cardiac arrest. After being revived on the field, he underwent successful surgery.
He miraculously made a full recovery and was able to play football again the following season.
