Trent Alexander-Arnold recorded his 50th Premier League assist on Monday night as Liverpool defeated Leeds 6-1.
The England right-back, regarded as one of the most creative players in the world, has had a rough season alongside most of his Reds teammates, but he was in fine form for the trip to Elland Road.
Alexander-Arnold set up Cody Gakpo for his first assist of the night then completed his hat trick in second-half injury time, throwing a lob over the top for Darwin Nunez to convert.
The first and last goals of the night came from Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah, who both scored braces, with Luis Sinisterra providing consolation for Leeds.
Alexander-Arnold had only two league assists prior to his past two games, but he now has five after crossing for Roberto Firmino to equalize in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal before Monday night’s double.

When asked if Trent Alexander-Arnold is a midfielder or a full-back, manager Jurgen Klopp replied, “Because Trent is both.” Darwin’s goal, in my opinion, should be an outstanding pass. He can be both, but in general, you are correct that we need to be better protected since we allow too many counter-attacks.
“Trent played a really good game but when we lost the ball the reaction was a lot different. All players we must be able to protect and for that the formations suit us much better.”
