Eddie Guerrero began his wrestling journey in college while at New Mexico Highlands University. He later moved to Mexico to train as a professional wrestler, following in the footsteps of his father and brother. He made his professional debut in 1986 and spent his early career days wrestling for Mexican promotions.
Guerrero formed a popular tag team with Art Barr. In 1995, he moved to the United States after the death of Art and joined ECW where he got mainstream exposure. He won the ECW World Television Championship before moving to WCW that same year.

During his time at WCW, Guerrero led the Latino World Order and won the WCW Cruiserweight Championship and the WCW United States Championship. The legendary wrestler would later move to WWF (now WWE) after WCW failed to elevate him to a main event spot.
In his first spell at WWF, Eddie Guerrero was a member of The Radicalz. He won the WWF Intercontinental Championship and the WWF European Championship before being released in 2001. Guerrero was rehired in 2002 and he went on to win the WWE Championship and the WWE Tag Team Championship with his nephew Chavo. Guerrero’s last WWE match was against Mr. Kennedy, which he won.
