His impressive performance with Utrecht saw him secure a transfer to Dutch giants, PSV Eindhoven. While at PSV, Mertens won the KNVB Cup and the Johan Cruyff Shield. The Belgian international joined Italian side Napoli in the summer of 2013 for a reported fee of 9.5 million Euros.
