Early Life
Mario Mandzukic was born in Croatia but his family relocated to Germany due to the Croatian War of Independence. He began his football journey in Germany, joining TSF Ditzingen at the age of six. He spent four years playing for TSF Ditzingen before his family returned to Croatia after the war.
Mandzukic joined Marsonia in 1996 and also had a short spell at Zeljeznicar Slavonski Brod before beginning his professional career.

Mario Mandzukic began his professional football career at Marsonia during the 2004-15 season. But after a season with the Slavonski Brod-based club, he transferred to NK Zagreb.
Mandzukic spent two seasons with NK Zagreb before Croatian powerhouse Dinamo Zagreb signed him for 1.3 million Euros. The attacker managed to secure his spot in the team’s starting eleven, mostly playing as a second striker.
During his time with Dinamo Zagreb, Mandzukic helped the club win Prva NHL three consecutive times. He also played a significant role as the team won the Croatian Football Cup in 2008 and 2009.
Mandzukic then joined VfL Wolfsburg where he spent two seasons before joining Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich. In his debut season with The Bavarians, Mandzukic won the UEFA Champions League, Bundesliga, DFL-Supercup and DFB-Pokal.

The Croatian attacker joined Atletico Madrid in 2014, winning the Supercopa de Espana in his only one season there. His football journey continued at Juventus where he won the Serie A four consecutive times.
Mandzukic spent the last two years of his professional football career playing for Al-Duhail and AC Milan. He is now an assistant coach of the Croatia national team.
