The Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury fight ended in a split decision victory for Tommy Fury, who came out more aggressive than he had in past bouts.
Two judges scored 76-73 in favour of Tommy Fury, with the other judge scoring 75-74 to YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul. Tommy Fury was the busier fighter as he landed several accurate punches while demonstrating his boxing skills. He was knocked down by Jake Paul in the eighth round, but still emerged victorious.

This was the first time that Jake Paul lost in the ring since becoming a boxer. He previously defeated MMA fighters Anderson Silva, Tyron Woodley and Ben Askren. The 26-year-old had also defeated former NBA player Nate Robinson and YouTuber AnEson Gib.
Tommy Fury, the brother to two-time world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, has so far won all his nine professional fights.
The WBC had made a statement saying that the winner of the Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury fight would get a top-40 ranking. And this could make way for a world-title shot in the future for Tommy.
Speaking after the fight, Tommy Fury said that he had a dream and vision that he was going to win it. And even though he had so much pressure, he came through.
“For the past two years, this is all that has consumed my life. Broken rib. Denied access. Everybody thought I was running scared. Tonight, I made my own legacy. I am Tommy Fury. All through these past two years, I had a dream and a vision that I would win this fight. And no one believed me. Now I can stand up and everybody can take note. It’s my first main event at 23 years old. I had pressure on my shoulders, and I came through.” CBS Boxing quotes Tommy Fury.
The Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury fight was the latest lucrative sporting event to be held in Saudi Arabia. Among those present in the open-top Diriyah Arena in Riyadh were boxing legend Mike Tyson, Deontay Wilder and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Fury was the first to walk into the ring dressed in white. He had a better reception compared to Jake Paul who the crowd booed.
Now getting into action, Fury looked more dominant than his opponent in the first round. He landed several solid jabs and managed a meaningful left hook before the end of the round. The 23-year-old continued to dominate in the second round, and even did some showboating.

Jake Paul would get into the fight in the third round. However, tables would turn for the YouTuber-turned-boxer in the fourth round after his brother insulted Fury’s family while being interviewed ringside. Tommy was not happy with the comments and he decided to make Jake pay for his brother’s words.
In the seventh round, both boxers looked tired. It looked like Tommy was going to win the fight and so Jake needed to do something dramatic. Well, he did it. Jake knocked Fury down in the final round, even though he was not badly hurt. But the knockout was not enough to convince the judges to rule the Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury fight in favour of the YouTuber.
