  • The January transfer window is expected to close today, January 31 2023
  • Various deals are expected to be completed on the deadline day with several clubs having on hold transfers
  • Chelsea are expected to finish the Enzo Fernandez transfer with Ziyech heading to PSG

Chelsea might acquire Enzo Fernandez before the transfer window ends on Tuesday, breaking the Premier League record for most players acquired in a single month.

The Blues have already made significant financial investments to lure Mykhailo Mudryk to Stamford Bridge, and they have also signed Noni Madueke, Joao Felix, and Benoit Badiashile.

On what is expected to be a frantic deadline day, with clubs all across Europe scrambling to close last-minute moves, Fernandez might leave Benfica.

We’ll have to wait and see whether Arsenal can persuade Brighton and Hove Albion to sell Moises Caicedo.

Joao Cancelo looks set to swap Manchester City for Bayern Munich on loan and Paris Saint-Germain could finally seal a deal for long-time target Milan Skriniar along with Hakim Ziyech.

SportsLeo has picked out the standout transfers that could go through before the deadline.

Chelsea to show the power of their money for Enzo Fernandez

After making an impact for Argentina during their World Cup victory in Qatar, Fernandez became a target for Chelsea.

Since a Todd Boehly-led consortium finalized a takeover and Graham Potter was appointed head coach, the London club has wasted no time in assembling a new-look side.

One of the most significant statements they’ve made this month is snatching winger Mudryk from Premier League leaders Arsenal.

Chelsea are working on trying to secure the services of Fernandez for a reported fee of £105.5million (€120m), which would break the Premier League record of £100m City paid Aston Villa for Jack Grealish.

Caicedo transfer hitting a wall

Arsenal have already raided Brighton for winger Leonadro Trossard.

Center-midfielder Caicedo, who last week made it apparent he wanted to join the Premier League leaders, has rejected the Arsenal’s high-stakes proposals.

Brighton wants to keep him for the remainder of the season, but Arsenal is reportedly prepared to test the Seagulls’ resolve once more on deadline day with a third proposal of £75 million.

Arsenal may turn to Youri Tielemans of Leicester City or Jorginho of Chelsea if they do not receive an offer they cannot refuse.

Cancelo headed to Munich

When it was revealed on Monday that Bayern were planning to sign Cancelo from City and bring him to the Bundesliga, eyebrows were raised.

Cancelo, a full-back for Portugal, has lost favor at the Etihad Stadium after allegedly fighting with Pep Guardiola.

Bayern would benefit significantly from a financing agreement as they pursue additional trophies, and this one is anticipated to be approved.

PSG gets a longtime target, Skriniar, with Ziyech also following

Cancelo’s acquisition by Bayern came late in the transfer window, although PSG has wanted Skriniar for a while.

The Inter centre-back’s contract expires at the end of the current campaign, and because the Serie A powerhouses have been unable to sign him to a contract extension, it seems inevitable that he will go.

The defender has already declared he has finalised terms with the Ligue 1 champions, so PSG should ultimately land their man before the transfer window shuts. Ziyech, a winger for Chelsea, might also be travelling to Paris.
