Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech is reportedly still trying to complete a deadline-day move to Paris Saint-Germain after talks fell through.

The former Ajax winger had a miserable two-and-a-half-year spell at Stamford Bridge and had previously travelled to Paris in an attempt to seal a move to the French giants.

The Blues were willing to let the player leave on loan after revealing that they would like to let the player leave for a non-Premier League rival before the end of the January transfer window.

Despite playing a vital role in the Atlas Lions’ historic run to the World Cup semi-finals, making them the first African team to do so, Ziyech has struggled at Chelsea this season after a poor first term.

As a result, the Blues were willing to let him go, with PSG posing as a possible destination.

The player was in Paris for a medical when the deal fell through, casting Ziyech’s immediate future in doubt.

However, the 29-year-old is thought to be working hard to keep the deal alive as he prepares to leave Stamford Bridge.

At the Parc des Princes, he would reunite with compatriot Achraf Hakimi, who was equally important in their country’s run to the World Cup’s last four.

In addition to the French champions, Serie A giants Roma were interested in signing the Moroccan attacker earlier this month, with the Giallorossi looking to climb into the Europa League places in the Italian top-flight.

Jose Mourinho is said to be interested in bringing the 29-year-old to the Italian capital, but must first raise the necessary £25 million.

AC Milan was expected to sign Ziyech before talks broke down over the attacker’s wage demands, but PSG has since entered the picture.

The French champions were said to be close to signing the former Ajax man, who is still under contract at Stamford Bridge until the end of the 2024-25 season.

However, the reports claim that an unspecified stumbling block threatened Ziyech’s loan move to PSG after the winger had already arrived in Paris for his medical.

The 29-year-old remains committed to moving to Parc des Princes, but the next few hours will be critical in determining whether a deal can be revived.

With the club bringing in Mykhailo Mudryk, Joao Felix, and Noni Madueke this month, Graham Potter will be looking to offload several players who will lose their starting spots.

Ziyech has only started four Premier League games for Chelsea this season. His only goal contribution in all competitions was an assist for Kai Havertz’s winner against Crystal Palace on January 15.

In his ten league appearances for the Blues, he has already averaged less than 45 minutes per game and has yet to score or assist in any competition.
