Edge, a WWE Hall of Famer, is one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time. He is a four-time WWE champion.

Born Adam Joseph Copeland, Edge has also used the ring names Adam Copeland, Adam Impact, Damon Striker, Sexton Hardcastle or Conquistador Uno.

The 49-year-old Canadian has been a wrestler since 1992 and is known for using the spear as his finisher move. He is currently under contract with WWE and performs on the Raw brand.

Prior to joining WWE, Edge wrestled in various independent promotions. He signed his first contract with WWE in 1997, when the promotion was still known as WWF.

As of 2022, Edge has held the World Heavyweight Championship a record seven times.

He has also held the World Tag Team Championship a record twelve times, Intercontinental Championship five times and the United States Championship once.

Edge, WWE Hall of Famer, is the first wrestler in history to win a Money in the Bank ladder match, King of the Ring Tournament and Royal Rumble.

The Canadian wrestler boasts of being WWE’s 7th Grand Slam Champion and 14th Triple Crown Champion. He is one of WWE’s most prolific pay-per-view performers.

Edge and Christian formed a tag team that significantly revived tag team wrestling during the Attitude Era.

Edge was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2012 after announcing his retirement from professional wrestling in 2011. He returned to wrestling in 2020.

Early Life 

Edge, a son of a single mother, was born on October 30, 1973, in Orangeville, Toronto, Canada. He has never seen the pictures of his father or met him in person.

Edge loved wrestling since his childhood, and some of his idols were Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart, Randy Savage and Shawn Michaels.

The Canadian international realized he wanted to be a wrestler when he saw Hulk Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior fighting at WrestleMania VI.

He attended Humber College and graduated with a diploma in radio broadcasting.

Career 

Edge, future WWE Hall of Famer, made his wrestling debut at a Canada Day 1992 event in Monarch Park Stadium. Between 1992 and 1995, Edge wrested on independent circuits.

His first-ever fight for WWF was on May 10, 1996, and his television debut was on June 1998. Edge defeated Jeff Jarrett in July 1999 to claim his first championship, WWF Intercontinental Championship.

Edge and Christian competed as partners at WrestleMania 2000 and won the WWF Tag Team Championship. They would later win the championship six more times.

In 2001, Edge won the King of the Ring Tournament, the Intercontinental Championship and the WCW US Championship.

He won the World Tag Team Championship in 2002 while collaborating with Hulk Hogan. They lost the title after a short while to his former partner Christian and Lance Storm.

Edge partnered with Rey Mysterio and competed for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship. They first lost the title to Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle before winning it later.

Rey Mysterio and Edge parted ways after they lost the Tag Team Championship. Edge defeated Randy Orton at Vengeance and won the Intercontinental Championship.

He won the vacant World Heavyweight title in 2005 after defeating Michaels in the first Elimination Chamber match.

Edge won his second WWE Championship in 2006 after defeating Van Dam in a Triple Threat match. Edge won the World Tag Team Championship for the eleventh time when he partnered with Randy Orton to defeat Triple H and Shawn Michaels.

He held the title for the 12th time when he partnered with Chris Jericho at The Bash in 2009.

The Canadian wrestler won the Royal Rumble for the first time in his career in 2010 after defeating John Cena in the final match.

Edge became the World Heavyweight Champion for the seventh time in February 2011 after defeating Dolph Zigler.

Edge, WWE Hall of Famer, retired from professional wrestling in 2011 because of several neck injuries. However, he returned to wrestling in 2020 and has since been making appearances on WWE’s Raw brand.
