Brady said he spent the past 40 days reflecting on his decision and came to realize he still belongs on the field.
“These past two months, I’ve realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands,” Brady wrote. “That time will come.
“But it’s not now. I love my teammates, and I love my supportive family. They make it all possible.

REASON BEHIND BRADY’S RETIREMENT
Brady announced his retirement from football on Feb. 1; he cited a desire to spend more time with his wife, supermodel Gisele Bündchen, and three children.
But, a day after attending Manchester United’s match against Tottenham Hotspur, he changed his mind about staying at home.

Bucs GM Jason Licht issued his statement on Sunday, revealing that he and Arians had several conversations with Brady recently that led them to believe he would return.
Bucs general manager Jason Licht said the announcement was something the team had been planning recently.
“[Head coach Bruce Arians] and I have had plenty of conversations with Tom recently that led us to believe there was a realistic chance he would want to come back.
“Tom is the greatest quarterback of all time who is still playing at an elite level,” Litch said
“With this decision now made, we will continue to move forward with our offseason plans to reload this roster for another championship run.”
At the NFL combine two weeks ago, Arians stated that he did not believe Brady would return, adding that he believed the quarterback was done due to the reasons he retired, primarily family.
His children are getting older, and his wife, Gisele Bundchen, has admitted that seeing him take so many hits has been difficult for her.
On the other hand, Brady can return because of his family’s unwavering support.
Arians said the team is “ecstatic” that Brady has decided to return for another season in a statement released on Sunday.

BRADY’S NFL CAREER
Brady has the most passing yards (84,520) and touchdowns (84,520) in the NFL’s history (624).
He is the only player to win five Super Bowls and has been named MVP five times.
Brady has been named to the Pro Bowl 15 times and has won three NFL MVP awards. He has also been named to the first-team All-Pro three times. In the regular season, he is 243-73, and in the playoffs, he is 35-12.
Many Boston sports fans watched the Boston Celtics retire Kevin Garnett’s iconic No. 5 jersey when Brady’s social media post went live.
Fans were delighted to learn the news as they exited the game and ceremony.
HOW DID FANS REACT FOLLOWING BRADYS DECISION?
“It was a mixture of like, for KG and shock of Tom Brady retiring, happiness all around,” Boston sports fan Shane Niles said. “Only in Boston.”
“There was a little bit of everything… from surprise to people who seemed to be waiting for this shoe to drop,” Niles added.
Bucs fans were equally thrilled.
“Wow, this is incredible. I mean, as a Bucs fan, it’s great to see him come back,” Bucs fan Trent Harris said. “I’m excited about it.”
“He is the GOAT for a reason. He really is,” Bucs fan Thomas Halloran said. “Tom Brady, when you think about it — he’s running out of fingers.”
Thanks to Brady’s quick reversal, the Buccaneers will be in a much better position on Monday when teams begin talking to and signing free agents.
They won’t have to look for a new starting quarterback, and they’ll be able to tell their free agents, as well as other potential signees, that the team will still be led by one of the league’s best quarterbacks.
HOW MUCH IS BRADY EXPECTED TO EARN?
Brady will earn $25 million next season, but only about $20 million will be counted against the team’s salary cap.
However, he revoked his contract several times during his career to help his teams sign key players.
His return to the Buccaneers may include a new contract that reduces his cap burden.
