Manchester United are currently facing a mini exodus as the transfer window nearly comes to the end by January 31, with the likes of Anthony Martial, Donny van de Beek and Jesse Lingard involved in departures.

United’s interim boss is facing a difficult week towards the end of the transfer window at Old Trafford. While there are unlikely to be any arrivals despite a personal plea to sign some midfielders, there could be more outgoings. Anthony Martial has already agreed to join Sevilla on loan until the end of the season after telling the Red Devils he was desperate to leave.

Jesse Lingard and Donny van de Beek are also eyeing departures prior to the end of the month when the transfer window closes. However, neither is considered key players and has not made much of an impact with the first team, as the interim boss does not want to weaken his squad. Especially considering when the German was looking to improve the size of his players with midfield an area of concern.

Crystal Palace reportedly offered Van de Beek a lifeline in the Premier League with Patrick Vieira prepared to give the Dutchman the football he craves. Away from England, Valencia is also interested in a deal with both clubs looking to snap the 24-year-old on loan until the end of the season.

At the moment, Lingard has been left upset by a series of broken promises made by the management whether if it was with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in charge or Rangnick. Jesse Lingard is ready to leave Manchester United behind after failing to win a place in the first-team under Ralf Rangnick

How the United boss deals with this situation remains to be seen though it is a difficult scenario for a manager that has only been in the job for several weeks while the players also know that he will not be around next year. His interim title makes transfer decisions tough and the German must concentrate on short-term goals such as landing a spot in the top four.

The club is set to experience a busy summer transfer window and could have a lot of wages to play with if they trim their squad. Manchester United could see plenty of departures this year with a number of often criticisms for operating as a business rather than a football club, but this year they have the chance to reverse those roles by sanctioning four deals that could end up saving them a fortune.

Rangnick has openly admitted the club has a squad that is already a little too big’, though there has been a reluctance for the club to actually part with players who have no immediate use for them. Rather, they have acted like a petulant toddler who shows little interest in a toy until someone else comes along and wants to use it, with a strange reticence to cash in on peripheral players.

With such swift decision making is seldom seen at Old Trafford but incoming chief executive Richard Arnold will have to ensure his reign, which will begin after replacing Ed Woodward next week, becomes one synonymous with success and efficiency.
