Tanzanian boxer Hassan Mwakinyo to face Namibian Julius Indongo

Tanzanian boxer and African champion Hassan Mwakinyo is expected to take the lead tonight in the international fight for the African Boxing Union (ABU) lightweight title against Namibian Julius Indongo.

The fight will take place in the East African country at the Ubungo Plaza in Dar es Salaam and will be aired by the Azam media station.

Indongo, who lives in the United States so far, has fought 23 professional fights, losing just three fights and winning 12 knockouts, and has also been a WBO African champion.

Another Tanzanian boxer will also be in action. Tony Rashid will be knocking horns for the African Boxing Union Super Bantam title with South Africa’s Bongani Mahlangu in a 12-round bout.

Other introductory fights are expected to begin at 6 p.m.
