Anthony Davis is an American professional basketball player. His full byline is Anthony Marshon Davis Jr. He was born on 11th March 1993.

Anthony’s parents are Erainer Davis and Anthony Davis Sr. He also has two siblings named Antoinette Davis and Lesha Davis.

Anthony Davis is known by his initials AD. He is a player for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA).

The basketball icon plays the power forward and center positions. His prowess in the court has earned him several crowns.

Anthony Davis is an eight-time NBA All-Star. He has also been named to four All-NBA Teams and four NBA All-Defensive Teams.

Interestingly, he has continued to do well and in his first season in 2020 with the Lakers as he won an NBA championship.

Davis started playing basketball at the college level. He played one season of college basketball for the University of Kentucky. That was when he was first-team All-American and the Consensus National Player of the year.

Anthony was drafted as the first overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft by the New Orleans Pelicans. That was when he left college for the NBA after one season.

The Orleans were by then known as the New Orleans Hornets. Davis was selected that summer to play in the 2012 Olympics.

Moreover, Davis did well and in his rookie season, he was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team.

On November 1, 2012, Davis made his debut against the San Antonio Spurs. He scored a team-high 21 in a losing effort. On November 2, he suffered a concussion that sidelined him for 2 and a half games until November 9.

Amazingly, Davis began the 2013–14 NBA season with the newly-renamed Pelicans with a pair of double-doubles, posting 20 points and 12 rebounds against Indiana on October 30 and 26 points and 17 rebounds against Orlando on November 1.

Anthony Davis began the 2014-2015 NBA season against the Orlando Magic. That was with one of the best season-opening performances of all time: 26 points, 17 rebounds, 9 blocks, 3 steals and 2 assists.

He re-signed with the Lakers on a five-year $190 million contract, on December 3, 2020. That included an early termination option prior to the fifth season in 2024–25.
