Fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani will play his domestic cricket in Zimbabwe this season as an overseas player, after signing a Kolpak deal with Northamptonshire last year.
As a Kolpak player, Muzarabani is ineligible to play for Zimbabwe. The 23-year-old has played one Test, six T20 Internationals and 18 One-Day Internationals for Zimbabwe.
This season, Muzarabani has made 11 appearances across all format for Northamptonshire.
In Zimbabwe’s first-class competition – the Logan Cup, Muzarabani will represent the Eagles. The Eagles begin their campaign against Rhinos on Thursday.
Zimbabwe’s domestic season was delayed, with Zimbabwe Cricket waiting for funding from the International Cricket Council – following the nation’s ban from membership.
The Logan Cup will feature five teams, and run until February 16.
