Luis Suarez Throws Jabs At Ronald Koeman

After an exciting Campaign with the Spanish Laliga title holders Atletico Madrid, Luis Suarez even after securing the title with Diego Simeone has not forgotten of the ill motives that was done to him when he was forced to leave Barcelona just after the arrival of the new Coach.

And finally after winning Laliga title with Barcelona rivals Atletico Madrid in what is seen as a revenge to Koeman, Luis Suarez has taken aim at Ronald Koeman over his departure, insisting the Dutchman has “no personality”.

Suarez was deemed surplus to requirements by Koeman upon his arrival at the Nou Camp last summer, meaning he completed a move to La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid after seeing a proposed switch to  Juventus fall through.

However, that decision eventually backfired for both Koeman and Barca, as the Uruguay striker’s tally of 21 league goals helped Atletico beat them to the Spanish title this season.

Luis Suarez has had a laden career under Diego Simeone, even scoring the goal that crowned them champions in Saturday’s 2-1 win over Valladolid.

And after inspiring Atletico’s title triumph, Suarez has hit out at Barca in a fiery interview with El Partidazo de COPE.

The former Barcelona star claims Koeman gave him mixed messages before his departure, while also slamming former president Josep Maria Bartomeu for not telling him he was being put up for sale directly.

Suarez said: “Koeman, after saying that he didn’t count on me, then told me ‘if tomorrow your situation isn’t solved, I will count on you for the game against Villarreal.’ I saw that he had no personality.”

He then added: ““Bartomeu or any board member at Barça did not call me, but I was going to send them a small picture [after winning the title with Atletico.”

When asked who treated him badly at Barca, Suarez said: “First, President Bartomeu who said everything in the press instead of calling me in person to tell me they did not want me, why did they not say that in person?

“They would use me to try to convince Leo [Messi] to stay. But, then, they wouldn’t talk to me directly when it was about me.”

Suarez bagged 198 goals in 283 games for Barca, helping them clinch four Spanish titles, as many Copa del Reys and the Champions League before their acrimonious split last summer.

Luis Suarez redeemed Atletico desire of winning the Laliga title with a goal after  running onto a loose pass after 67 minutes to clinch a comeback 2-1 victory.

But While the rest of the team celebrated winning the league for the first time in seven years, though, the occasion got to Suarez at full time.

The Uruguayan was filmed speaking to someone on his phone, sitting on the pitch while tears streamed down his face.

He rubs them away while voices at the other end of the line celebrate his role in securing the La Liga title.

Suarez also spoke about his exit from Barcelona, with the 34-year-old saying in his post-match interview: “I am delighted the way Atletico have appreciated me and given me the chance to keep showing I can perform on this stage.
