To start with, Martial joined Manchester United in the summer of 2015 as one of the finest young players in the world. He won the Golden Boy award that year and the Red Devils made him the most expensive teenager in the history of the beautiful game.
Despite showing the world a glimpse of his potential during his early career days at Old Trafford, things didn’t quite work out for him and has mostly been on the sidelines due to injuries. As he waits for the summer transfer window to be opened so he can be on the move, here are the most memorable moments of Anthony Martial career at Manchester United.
1. Debut Against Liverpool
Martial made his Manchester United debut on 12 September 2015 in a match against Liverpool. The Frenchman came on as a substitute for Juan Mata in the 65th minute and went on to announce himself to Old Trafford faithfuls in the best way possible by scoring a stunning solo goal.
The run and finish were outstanding, simply showing Manchester United fans what to expect from him.
2. FA Cup Semi-Final Goal
Since Sir Alex Ferguson retired, we have seen Manchester United win matches due to individual brilliance of players like Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes.
While a good number may have forgotten how good Martial was in his debut season, the recent FA Cup triumph should bring back memories of how the forward helped the Red Devils win the trophy in 2016.

Playing against Everton in the semi-final, United needed a hero to send them to the FA Cup final with the score 1-1. With time running out, Martial produced a last-gasp finish to secure a dramatic win for the Red Devils and send them to Wembley Stadium. United went on to beat Crystal Palace in the final and lift the trophy.
3. Goal Against Manchester City
While Manchester City have dominated the Manchester derby in recent years, United’s win have been unforgettable.
When these clubs met in 2020 just before the lockdown, Martial was leading the Red Devils’ frontline and went on to open the scoring with a brilliant finish from Bruno Fernandes’ well taken free-kick. The goal set Manchester United on their way to a 2-0 victory, with Scott McTominay scoring the second goal.
Martial was again the star in in March 2021 as United beat City 2-0 at the Etihad Stadium. Even though he didn’t score, he played like a proper forward pulling defenders his way and then creating chances for teammates.
4. Hat-Trick Hero
Next on most memorable moments on Anthony Martial at Manchester United is when he scored a hat-trick against Sheffield United in June 2020. Martial’s three goals were all United needed as they went to to secure a 3-0 win against Sheffield.

The Frenchman went on to score 23 goals for the Red Devils across all competitions that season, with 17 coming in the English Premier League. Unfortunately, Martial couldn’t continue with his momentum the following season.
5. Brace In United’s 9-0 Southampton
Manchester United recorded one of the biggest wins in the club’s history when they crushed Southampton 9-0 in February 2021. Martial’s performance that night showcased the desire to be one the goalscorer’s list and led to Manchester United securing the joint highest-ever goal margin in Premier League history. Despite coming on as a substitute, he scored a brace and provided an assist.
